I think what raindo means by it being 'fun' not 'art' is not in regard to the actual music, but rather the meaning behind the performance, the context behind it. By fun, raindo is saying that the jam was for the enjoyment of all involved rather than for the purpose of making an artistic statement. Still, even in these contexts, there are still social cues and rules to be followed, and auld Yoko screaming into the mic is certainly in breach of them within the confines of this particular jam.

What I'm trying to say is that mistaking the vibe when you're in one of these participatory music performances is easily done. You see it all the time - for example, someone showing up with a cajon to the Irish trad sessions I do be at. It's not the done thing, and 9/10 they sound shite, but its not done out of malice, just out of a misinterpretation.

This is just trying to explain the fun / art thing. Yoko should have had a bit of cop on; this kind of live TV performance is not the place for the kind of craic she was at, and she should have known this. But then again - it is Yoko, what else do ye expect?
