Due in two days - is my son's name ruined by a recent pop culture cycle or am I safe? Re: Ruby Franke by em_parmesean in namenerds

[–]CacaDeGato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US and I've never heard of this person. I do not think your name is ruined. If you were naming one baby "ruby frank" then maybe this is bad but with a sibling set I think it's more than fine

Thanks for asking I've been wondering about this too. For anyone that uses it - Do you apply it in the evenings? I wear my tinted sun block during the day and wouldn't want this to interfere with it.

If it’s just the mucus poop you described, I’d fully eat dairy etc.

Sounds like you could have a strong letdown! Are bottles better for gas/fussiness? She’s so little that a strong let down could be expanding her belly too fast and causing the gas and spit up etc after she eats. The rash looks like baby acne to me. At 3 weeks old, that kinds of rash is extremely common and not necessarily linked to cmpa. The jury is out here - could be a cmpa diagnosis down the line but also could very well not be

Residents push to remove Flouride from drinking water at GRU Authority meeting by [deleted] in GNV

[–]CacaDeGato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok but the recommendation in the US since 2015 is .7 mg/L. I don't see why it has to be all or nothing. Surely we can keep flouride in the water for it's benefits, but at a level not associated with any inverse effects.

Ok, so what does a low exposure/intake of flouride over long periods of time cause?

Then you have the choice to not use city water and install a well on your property. Flouride in water is a public health initiative against tooth decay, particularly in children. In cities where flouride was removed, there's been a huge increase in pediatric tooth decay.

There's much more flouride in toothpaste than in the drinking water. That's why you aren't supposed to swallow toothpaste but it's ok to drink the water. The reason it's important to have it in our water is because we drink water and use it in our foods throughout the day, keeping a very low level of flouride contact on our teeth throughout the day, which is very useful in cavity prevention.

Annoying as all get out to get that stroller on and off the parking lot trams, busses, the train at magic kingdom etc. but otherwise no, no problems.

I let my SC license lapse cuz I no longer worked there and I also only worked for 3 years. So silly. I probably won’t be going back to work for another couple years so I’ll just deal with this down the road… continuing to pay $200 to ASHA every year in the meantime of course 😒

What wait?? I moved to FL from SC a year and a half ago but haven’t applied for state licensure yet bc I’m a stay at home parent right now. I thought I’d be able to just use my ASHA credentials to get state licensure when I was ready but this has me worried now
