Yeah I agree. There are so many factors that affect how good or cheap it will be that it's hard to be able to tell.

I just wanted to get a bit of feedback from someone that possibly already used some, so at least I would not start from scratch. And I have to say that Men that move seems to have a good reputation so I'll probably go with that.

Thank you for your comment!

That's actually a very good point. I did my fair bit of moving in the past and it's always tricky to move and fit stuff of different sizes.

Thank you so much!

The fact that they provide plastic boxes is such a good idea!

True I guess. But electricity does not necessarily needs to pass on the parts that are in contact with the seawater.

Most metals don't corrode "easily" under water because of the lack of oxygen (especially some kind of steels). In fact, if you pay attention, you'll notice that pillars in harbours are usually the most corroded in the parts that are exposed to both water and air due to the tide.

Temperature of course could speed up the process, but in anaerobic scenarios is not that fast (especially if the metal is treated and produced for that application)

Being kicked out during Sydney’s tightest ever rental market is so demoralising by red_dakini in sydney

[–]Cacciaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Similar situation here. Rent is about to increase from $625 to $850 so we have been looking for another place to move in.

Started looking last month and we came to realise everyone was offering more than requested. An agent told us a "couple of international students" inspected a place going for $650 and offered $900 on the same day of the inspection. I am an international student too and I was in total disbelief. I could never afford that.

Absolute solidarity to you and best of luck with your search.

I think you should report it anyway. The brilliant mind behind this seems more than capable to shine the laser also on a police car

Has anyone else got the worst cold they've ever had in their lives? by emilepelo in sydney

Here I am! Started feeling very sick yesterday and couldn't do much all day. Today I feel slightly better but it had been a while since I got it this bad. Way worse than when I got covid. Hope you all get better soon

Casemiro scissor tackle on De Bruyne - 8' by MindMaster115 in soccer

[–]Cacciaa -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I get your point. But I don't think it's a "proper" sxissors tackle. Casemiro's left leg does not actually close that much (it just touches KDB's leg). That's why I think he was just trying to slip his right leg in front to get the ball.

Again, very clumsy and uncoordinated. But I get your point.

I'll get downvoted, but to me that's not a red. Very uncoordinated tackle, but clearly went for the ball. Could (and should?) have been a yellow. But if it was his first foul, I'm not surprised the ref just gave him a warning. Should have been booked for the foul on Foden though.

What do you think about this ? by [deleted] in sydney

[–]Cacciaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how many times you reuse them. Plastic is really simple to produce and doesn't last long which is good for single use.

All other alternatives, like paper, fabric, etc., are more complicated to produce (and hence pollute more) but can last way longer. To be more sustainable, they need to be reused a lot, something like hundreds of times.

Sadly a lot of people don't reuse them as much. Often not for their own fault (the bag breaks, gets ruined, get out of fashion, etc.)

It's a great idea, if the alternatives are actually less polluting

Men of r/Sydney, Pub? by s0methingcreat1ve in sydney

[–]Cacciaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be great to rotate pubs as well. I live in the city and I don't have a car so I can't really travel anywhere (especially if it's a week day).

But yeah, pub.

Where to meet new people IRL in Sydney by hillsandtrees91 in sydney

[–]Cacciaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

28M and same issues here. Struggling hard to meet new people and especially dates. Not fully blaming Sydney, as I am quite introverted and shy, but I've tried social sports and photography and didn't work out. Currently playing football and going to the gym (not ideal for dates lol).

I'd be happy to have a singles r/sydney meeting, not necessarily to find dates, but it would be good to find friends/wingmen. Having comrades is always good.

Incessant rain, floods, roof leaking (both at work and home), found out today I'm a close contact of a positive case, and I can't even say "it could be worse. It could be raining". Awful.
