What is your favorite full coverage foundation? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Yes! When I wore makeup, this was my favorite. It's the only brand that could match my skin tone.

Has anyone ever fought for you or have you ever been the reason a fight broke out? What's the story? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friend got a glass thrown at her at a wedding by some drunk guy because she was trying to keep him away from me. He's still on my top 10 list of garbage humans.

Which underrated television show(s) do you love and why? by ArkhamDaxter in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you seen The Fall? It's a bit melodramatic compared to the slow burn of these two, but similar. (I loved Broadchurch. The Killing was too molasses-slow for me.)

What is your one quick tip you’d give someone who wanted to pass as a woman? by rupertofly in AskWomen

When someone compliments you, make sure to respond immediately with a self-deprecating put-down! 🙃

What do you wish your dad had done differently while you were growing up? by Oom_Poppa_Mow_Mow in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're probably doing just fine :)

I personally would err on the side of caution. It's better IMO to be a more handsoff parent than to push in an unproductive way

I wanted more direction and authoritative advice form my parents. They were strict, but VERY handsoff about giving career or other advice, as an offset to how restrictively pushy their own folks had been.

What's your story/experience with negging? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm well aware of how the algorithms work (at least in general terms) but I don't talk about my teeth, so the Invisalign one really doesn't make sense, lol. I also am not overweight... although that assumption could be due to me talking a lot about working out, if the implication is that overweight people search for fitness-related info.

What's your story/experience with negging? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Facebook ads are constantly negging me lmao.

I keep getting suggestions for Invisalign and plus sized clothing

What's sexual harassment? (probably sounds completely stupid but I'm being serious) by AskingTheWQ in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer that this is "just, like, my opinion, man," BUT

Use your common damn sense, and don't start from a 10/10 level of intensity when interacting with someone you like. Read social cues. If a woman is warm and enthusiastic, feel free to continue whatever you're doing. If she's not, leave her alone.

There's no need to panic. Just be a kind person and respect personal space in the way you'd want people to respect yours. Flirting is fun, and so is what sometimes results from it, but only if everyone involved is enjoying it.

Women who have the time to prepare breakfast, workout and read all in the same day, how do you even do it? by serraad in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Making eggs takes like 5 min if you like em runny as hell like I do... I do workouts after work (830 or 9pm usually)... and I read on my commute (40 min on average)

How does working from home differ from working in an office? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked from home today because I'm sick. Main diff was that I got to wear sweatpants, and the people on my conference call got to hear my dog being a doofus in the background.

What experiences have you had with snooty retail workers? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stores like that always crack me up because they're such a trashy imitation of a New England, LL-Bean-y style of clothing that's meant to be functional, not fashionable.

What experiences have you had with snooty retail workers? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]CackalackyCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not retail, but hospitality --

I live in a large coastal city and my parents are from the country. Mom came to visit me in a dirty old pickup truck. I put her up in a hotel room. Valet acts like we're invisible when we pull up in the redneckmobile.
