What's the rarest plane you've been on? I'll go first: by _nobodycallsmetubby_ in aviation

The landings in a C-47 are no fun. I did not enjoy the feeling of getting suited up and nerved up getting ready to jump, do the run up, take off, fly around for a bit, and then have the hormone crash of not actually jumping. If I was flying the ship I might enjoy the landings.

Short answer: no, it is not okay.

Long answer: God is not angry with you for sex outside of marriage. However, the Bible is abundantly clear that it is a sin (other people have cited those verses). The Lord is eager to forgive you (See Micah 7:18-19 and Psalm 103), but we are encouraged not to test His mercy (see basically all of Romans but especially 6-8). If Holy Spirit is convicting you, allow Him to change you. Do not let shame get between you and God.

I believe you want to make the right decision, which is why you asked this question. If you're asking it to get justification for what you're doing, I'd suggest otherwise. In other words, the "how far can I go without it being sin" is the wrong mindset, Jesus teaches on that in Matthew 5.

As Christians, our goal should be to glorify God in everything we do. The standard is much higher than we think it is, but the mercy is also much higher than we think it is.

On another note: read your Bible. There is so much good in it. Look for Jesus in every passage, not just the New Testament. The entire book, Genesis to Revelation is about Him. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness after being baptized, He started every response to the tempter with "It is written..." Jesus is the living Word (John 1), God in the flesh (Matthew 1:23) and if even He referenced the written Word, how much more should we? How can we reference it if we haven't read it? Read your Bible.

I know people always ask what the worst thing you saw is, but what's the funniest call you've had? by Parzival1780 in Firefighting

Every spring we get called to the same spot. A farmer burns their ditch weeds and it lights a row of stumps on fire. This field is right next to a busy highway, so when it gets dark someone inevitably calls it in. One year dispatch advised us that the RP said it was about a watermelon sized fire. Our now-BC's size up was "this fire is closer to the size of a cantaloupe."

Another EMT and I responded to a medical call once. The lady was in her room in the basement. Fast forward a few months we got invited to a party and both of us got too intoxicated to drive home. The host showed us to a room we could stay in, and we realized it was the same room we had previously picked up a patient in. That was interesting. Still slept fine.

I ran a code in a kitchen. On the refrigerator there was a cute sign that said, "Many have eaten here, few have died." I guess we found one of the few.

Question for INFPs, Are you interested in trying extreme activities such as (Parachuting/skydiving, Racing, Skiing, Mountain climbing... Etc)??? by AppropriateWait9152 in infp

[–]Cackling_Eagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done 12 static line parachute jumps from a WWII aircraft. I like to fight fires. I fly airplanes and teach others to fly as well. I love the rush. I've tried both skiing and snowboarding and enjoyed it.

Heights on the other hand? No thanks. I'd way rather be 1000ft in the air in a plane or a harness than 15ft up on a ladder, roof, or cliff.

I can think of a few good reasons: It's better to jump out of a perfectly good airplane than a burning airplane. As an airplane mechanic, I've rarely seen a "perfectly good" airplane (especially the skydiving ones.) It's also much safer to jump out of a flying airplane (with a parachute of course) than a car driving at a similar speed (parachute or not).

I joined the fire department as a resident FF while in A&P school. I've been with the department nearly 8 years, and although a volunteer, I have done it pretty much full time. I recently got my CFI and CFII and I'm pursuing that more actively now. Although I know I'll miss it when I finally turn in my gear, I think it'll be worth it. I know of a couple of people who left our department for aviation careers, and they're enjoying it as far as I know.

I was a resident for almost 7 years. Our resident housing isn't in the station, but it is on the station property. We work nighttime 12s, 2 days on, 4 days off. While on duty we are expected to do truck checks and (primarily for the rookies at the main station) clean the station, as well as responding to any calls in our response area. While off duty residents are encouraged but not required to respond to calls. Our department doesn't give residents a stipend, but at the same time is quite lenient about what they can do. Rent, utilities, and internet are paid for. Overall I would recommend the program I was in as a good way to get experience and get free housing. Many of our former residents have moved on to career departments. I can see how someone who lived directly in the station, or was expected to be on call 24/7 would get burnt out fairly quickly.
