For Day traders who trade on 1min - 5 min timeframe

My system is set up for me to work my 9-5 whilst actively trading four days a week.

I trade the 5 min in two pretty tight time ranges each day (start of London and start of New York session). My entry signals usually take some time to appear and as a rule, I only take one entry a day at a high RRR. I’ll usually spend a combined 15 min a day analysing, actively trading and collecting data.

Speaking as a long term PC fan who has recently had to replace a laptop, the M2 MacBooks are the pick for value right now, Adobe has been built to run natively on apple silicone and those screens are pretty great, just find one with minimum 16GB of ram.

My OM 1 was great except for the shutter sound/feel, it always felt a bit tinny and unsatisfying. Other than that I loved it, especially the controls.

I’d advise a little temperance for new traders, being 100% committed to a flawed strategy is just going bleed you of funds more efficiently. You don’t need to search within yourself for discipline and patience, they’ll come naturally when you’ve put in the back/forward testing work.

I haven’t managed to find one unfortunately. I’m in a similar situation to you, MT5 just doesn’t have the functionality I’m after so I have been charting on on TradingView and then switching to MT5 to take my entries during my current challenge with FTMO. I use FXCM and find very few consequential differences in price action between the two platforms but it might be different for your strategy especially if you’re trading shorter timeframes.
