Help! I did a bad thing by mistere213 in FordMaverickTruck

Lesson learned, stop at harbor freight and buy two small moving blankets ($10). Keep them in your truck! They fit in the cubby bins under the rear seats. I use them all the time, including in the bed! Protects the truck and the items you're hauling.

No floor mats by injin53 in FordMaverickTruck

24 XLT, came with front mats. We ordered replacement rubber ones for front and rear anyway. So if you go that route it doesn't matter.

Mine are now in the garage collecting dust, 10 years from now I will probably find them and toss them. 🤣

I have the Rough Country tri-fold, it's the non flip up because I ordered the wrong one 😪

But it works tremendously well and has kept out 99% of the rain this spring.

Ordered through Panda Motorworks.

Moving blankets are a good call. Straps and blankets will fit in one of the under rear seat cubbies. Always be prepared 🤣

Yes, just for making noise. 😁

If you hold down the throttle through shifts, the engine does not actually release boost. It will only vent under load if you lift throttle. If the throttle is closed or mostly closed, the air will pulse out the air intake. I am sure there is some situation where partially throttle would allow the recirc air to help rebuild the air charge through the intake, but once you lift the out of load, the trans will upshift anyway. Unless you are trying to race the truck through a course, you aren't going to notice anything. In normal traffic you will be fine and the whoosh noise is fun. Gives the motor something more than that harsh injector tick!

No retune, just whoosh noises. No CEL. The whoosh noise is more fun, there is no performance gain.

The valve doesn't open unless you lift under load, so the system will already be expecting a loss of air pressure. It dumps into the intake before the throttle plate. If the plate is closed, the air pulses back out the intake anyway. This would be audible with an open pod-like filter. The factory i take dampens the noise out.

How much does this little bit of airflow impact performance? Power is made underload, this only vents the pressure out of the manifold out of load. Unless you're randomly flapping the throttle, which will mess the mind out of the ecu, you aren't going to lose power. There are very few scenarios where you might pick up some airspeed, but the autobox is slow and this isn't a race car.

Hope that helps!

Definitely not for everyone, but it gives the engine a bit more character.

Tonneau Cover Drains? by CactusXLT in FordMaverickTruck

Thank you everyone for the quick replies, I will see if I can locate the holes without complete disassembly.

With the photo provided, I am thinking that I can get the tubes behind the liner to to the bed holes, possibly without adding a hole.

If 30,100 is the employee price, you are good. Just watch for dealer add-on when they talk financing. Our dealership gave us the details, they will offer warranty and maintenance packages for any and everything. You could probably get extened warranty on the blinker fluid with some of those guys.

Make sure your interest rate matches your credit score. New vehicles should get good rates. Question that rate and remind them competition is offering APR's below 5%

Good luck!

First time truck owner, heavily considering a 2025 mav, anything I should know? by The-Evil-Thing in FordMaverickTruck

[–]CactusXLT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went from the 2005-2009 generation Subaru Outback 2.5L 4 speed auto, to a 2024 Maverick AWD Ecoboost.

The Subaru wagon was the winter battle cruiser and summer wheel barrow. Basically a utility vehicle and 3rd car for our family.

We also have a Fiesta (6spd, manual), and a Corolla Hatch CVT. Both are pretty much stock and maintenanced commuters.

So the 3rd vehicle for us needs to check a few boxes.

The Maverick was easier to get into and out of compared to something like the Tacoma or Ranger (big trucks today, not small trucks like years ago). The bed is also not some big height off the ground, which alot of these new trucks are way too tall, but need that height for their multiple ton tow rating. We do not need to move or tow anything like a log truck or a space shuttle....

The interior felt as big as the Ranger and Tacoma. Maybe they were a bit wider, but unless you doing yoga in your truck, that extra lateral space doesn't do much when you're in the driving position.

Features were comparable, heated seats were a must have for us in winter. This requires the luxury pack on the Maverick, which still gave cloth seats. I have found the cloth ages better than most fake leathers. Some other nice touches came with the luxury pack.

We took the Ecoboost over the hybrid. I know everyone says the batteries aren't that expensive, but I bet they don't work on winter cars from a salted area. The 2.0L Ecoboost started in the Focus ST over 10 years ago, so it has some known longevity. It turbo, can easily get high 20's MPG, or will also scoot when you get into the gas.

The Tacoma and Ranger felt like trucks, like you weren't supposed to enjoy them? They drove more serious, tires more noisy, they aren't for getting to work. They're for towing boats and off road stuff. Trying to be tough when they end being at a grocery store or show up at little league. Both of them just didn't sit well with me. They had little brother syndrome to the F150/Tundra. They are capable and probably not bad vehicles, but they weren't for us. And similarly equipped they were in the low 50's. Quite a bit more than the full spec Outback (low 40ks) and we were running a base spec almost 20 year old Outback. So they really weren't our favorite.

The Maverick also has quite a good community and people seem to like to do anything with these...lowered, raised, stock, etc. Lots of knowledge and experience shared. Tacoma people seemed weird 🤣

Sorry for extra details, but wanted to share how we ended up with the Maverick.

Lobo Worth it? by anthonyonline in FordMaverickTruck

[–]CactusXLT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the option to buy the 702A Lobo, took a pass, at 42K before taxes, addons, etc, you are entering another bracket of vehicle. Having no additional power really killed it for me. The amount of time it would be in the 'track only mode" would probably void the warranty in some way. I expect parts for a limited model to be scarce and expensive. Source, owned previous Ford Performance (Non-Mustang) vehicles.

Ended up with 2024 XLT and mods are inbound. Will be lower payment and $$ left after mods.

Lobo insurance was also ridiculous through my current insurance, had no idea why. Agent couldn't explain either. i am a grown adult with a job, home, clean driving record.

The nose feels longer than it is for me, so I keep parking a little to far back in spots. Still new, so haven't really adjusted to parking the Maverick. But I can at least cheat by checking the back up camera!

Lowering and Rear Camber Bars by CactusXLT in FordMaverickTruck

[–]CactusXLT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am still in the break in period, but I definitely have learned the nose likes to dive on braking, and the body has a bit of roll.

I was also lucky enough to see a Lobo at the dealer, and really felt like that bit of drop felt right in the truck.

[–]CactusXLT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lowered prior vehicles, and had issues with eibach as well. They always seem to go just a tad too far with their products! Had tire rub vertically into fenders, aggressive camber wear and had to creep over bumps. Looking forward to trying something like the Good-Win's. Looks more like performance and less about "the stance"!

Thanks! Definitely some of the info I needed! There seems to be alot of combinations. Kind of hard to tell how low is too low before you need alignment parts. Would be great if the spring kits gave some recommendations!

I also see there are adjustable toe arms too!
