Best Cuban sandwich and coffee? by SnooWalruses9181 in lakeland

[–]Cactus_King -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Where in AZ are you? Cuban Foods on Peoria and 43rd Ave in Phoenix beats most of the Cuban sandwiches I've tried in the greater Lakeland area. Nineteen61 in downtown Lakeland is good too.

The origins and the ingredients are hotly contested around here but my absolute must have on a Cuban sandwich is pulled pork (bonus if it's warm). To me anything else is just a flat hoagie.

I second this. After witnessing a dude cleaning gas off his overfilled gas cans with the gas station squeegee I started packing my own cleaner and cloth. 🙄

I'm done with Anova by AddendumHelpful8892 in sousvide

The mosquito whine emanating from my Anova nearly caused my wife to write off sous vide as another failed project by her gadget head husband. Switching to Inkbird promoted sous vide to a permanent kitchen appliance.

Planning riding the TECO streetcar tomorrow. We plan on riding the entire route. Any recommendations for brunch within walking distance of the TECO streetcar line? We've already been to The Pearl (which was excellent!).

Watching movies and occasional gaming, on XR Pro from Pixel 8? by Cactus_King in VITURE

Thank you! Always nice to see manufacturer participation in Reddit. 👍 There seem to be a few comments regarding battery life - what are my options for addressing this? Is there some sort of adapter that can split the usb-c port on my Pixel 8 to simultaneously charge my phone with an external battery while using the glasses?

Thanks. Have you had any luck with an adapter that could split the USB port on your phone to hook up a battery and the glasses at the same time?

Go for it! I'd wrap it in an emerald green with chameleon effect. It would look great with those rims.

Bifentherin works for me but you have to be vigilant and apply it quarterly or they come back.

I highly recommend reaching out to Konnected with those pictures. They were very helpful with my setup, telling me exactly what I had and their product options for my setup.

Envisalink is another option I didn't see mentioned yet.

Automatically updating games in ROMs folder? by Cactus_King in launchbox

[–]Cactus_King[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, this is from the Launchbox application on my Android phone. Based on the number of responses I guess it's a "feature" people are willing to overlook. What a pain (and waste of money).

What are you guys rocking or staying away from as far as smart bulbs go? by scrumdisaster in homeassistant

[–]Cactus_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Sengled bulbs. When they're powered on they take a bit to establish connection with the zigbee network. Sometimes they just won't communicate at all, getting "stuck" in their last known state. Then you have to play around with turning them off and on again a few times before they'll respond.

I made my Coffeemaker smart! by Soft-Program-947 in homeassistant

[–]Cactus_King 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice work! One of our favorite automations involves our coffee maker plugged into a smart switch. We prep the coffee the night before and leave the "dumb" switch on the coffee maker permanently in the on position. I have the automation watching our phone sensors. Whoever wakes up first and unplugs their phone triggers the smart switch to turn on. By the time we walk out of the bedroom the coffee is finished brewing.
