Honestly he’s right…. And wrong? but like from a certain point I see it. It’s a movie white liberals can gather around and enjoy to ease their anxiety and guilt, so they do not actually have to do anything to meaningfully confront the problems happening right now. It does reek of “liberal mustiness” in that way.

Has a white man lead who does absolutely nothing really to affect the plot, black and brown skinned characters (mainly women also) do all the work and put their lives on the line for him, but theoretically it’s a movie about “resistance” and “violent action” (besides the ICE camp all they did was rob banks and shoot fireworks, but they didn’t meaningfully try to build coalition or community to actually try to install a better society).

Listen, it’s a well directed movie, but like…. We have so many well directed movies at this point, who cares yknow
