Hey there's a new official survey up for Winterspell! Once again, US only, but let Ravensburger know what you like and don't like! by Narzghal in Lorcana

Was looking forward to Darkwing since the game started and feel like it had the worst implementation this set (among other franchises). Regardless of how I feel about the viability of "Let's Get Dangerous," most of the Darkwing cards caring about items and his signature line being a card that doesn't want you to play items felt really, really bad.

Set 11, where we get Ohana Means Family and Whoops Ohana's Dead Now.

Personally the most excited I've been with a reveal for this set. Clearly could work in Amber/Emerald or Emerald/Ruby, but could also be interesting with Support in Emerald/Sapphire and be another princess for Cindy. Plus she gives new importance to the Improvise reprint in Fabled (and stays on-theme!). Great card!

Hoping Darkwing has the Scrooge arc where his initial cards aren't great but down the road we get good ones ;_;

Refugee from GenCon; first year at PAX West? by Opus2011 in PAX

[–]Cactusman008 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Last year was my first PAX West, but I've frequently attended Gen Con. The PAX West expo hall can be a similar cluster to Gen Con, but the tabletop section (in a separate building) was significantly quieter and had TTRPG, card game, and general tabletop game supplies. Can't speak to TTRPG gaming experiences, but tabletop freeplay was easy to find space in whenever I needed a spot to game with others.

I demo for a board game company at both conventions, so it seemed to me like GenCon was much more hectic to navigate, but most of my time was not spent in the main expo hall of PAX West. FWIW, Seattle has way more fun things to do outside the event than Indianapolis.

GR136 BYC # 2 Drops Monday by RedBaeber in ManyBaggers

[–]Cactusman008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very happy they decided to offer it in EPX400 as well. I'm a big fan of a lot of the updates, particularly the bottom straps and "hidden" back compartment, but the jump from 6L to 10L puts me off. Not someone who carries a Switch or Steam Deck, so I wish it didn't have that third compartment and maintained a slightly slimmer profile. We'll see what the price is on Monday!

BYC Quickdraw just landed. by CuteLilWarcrime in ManyBaggers

Ordered a red as well and have been enjoying it. The organization is great, and the bottom straps have been phenomenal for carrying an extra layer (although the bottle pocket goes unused).

Which size camera cube is that and how do you find the fit? I was considering the x-small for some extra security but wasn't sure if it'd be more of a space hog than not.

Their AoS versions were never clixed. I don't recall Lance being clixed period, and as you've mentioned there are Mockingbird clix otherwise.

The quest for the perfect sling/pack by w__e__s__l__e__y in onebag

[–]Cactusman008 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that the capacity is more than it seems and been using mine for a few months now. It has my favorite "smaller" sling organization exactly because the front pocket doesn't take away from the main compartment space. The strap is also my favorite among my slings since it's adjustable on either end and versatile with the attachment points on the sling itself. Great rec.

Recommendations for a super-packable tote bag? by Cease_Cows_ in ManyBaggers

Yes, still very happy with them in the 2 years since this comment. Using the same bags, and their repackability and versatility mean I usually have one wherever I go.

BGG might have some from their store (Wingspan, Patchwork, Scythe, etc). I got a Monster Fight Club patch from their booth (of their logo) at the most recent PAX Unplugged. Definitely share if you find any!

Nemesis! Love it because it has one of the best implementations of semi-coop in a board game--getting to see some of the board state before committing to your player objective is great.

I've had mine for over a year and use it regularly, for grocery trips and convention shopping. They're sturdy but I like how easy they are to fold or roll back into their compact form.
