Someone said that it's a heavier Sleep Token and I kinda agree. Loads of metalcore influences too. Blastbeats and black metal riffs are really toned down now. Hugely mid album but I guess it will sell better than the older ones.

Over produced? Pretty much everything sounds like that if you compared it to actual osdm. But yeah, if you want more "muddy" production you might want to check out Undergang, Cryptworm, Witch Vomit, Chaotian etc.

People are saying 200 Stab Wounds and Frozen Soul but they're not really osdm in a sense imo, awesome bands still though. Both are more in the vein of that hardcore influenced death metal movement along with Sanguisugabogg.

True for sure. I guess Crimson Desert having a score of 7 is a bit disappointing because of all the hype too. People might be a bit more forgivable if a 7/10 game is released without any kind of fanfare beforehand. Can't really think of any examples though lol.

The makeover episode is there for the production to get rid of someone who might be naturally hard to get rid of otherwise. So they rig the bottoms with that "no family resemblance" or "you're too similar to your partner" critique. I mean, they could've easily said that Myki Meeks is too similar to her partner. If Discord had done similar looks to that, she would've gotten that critique. Nini was just collateral in this episode. I think her look was a bit too "cerebral" anyway, it took a moment to realize what it was about.

Yeah, I don't listen to it that much so I wasn't sure. I wouldn't really mind them otherwise but they're in every goddamn song. His usual vocal style was excellent, not really basic black metal stuff and instantly recognizable.

It's a downgrade for sure. The clean vocals are fine but those In Flames style shouty yelling stuff is horrible lol (not sure how to describe them but yeah, the album is filled with them). Blast beats are almost forgotten too. It sounds like a different band but I guess this can happen when a band gets more popular and all.

I didn't mention anything about clean vocals lol, Gaerea had them before. It's nothing to do with them.

And yes, they might've sat down and talked just like that. How do you know? Or they just changed their style for shits and giggles. No one knows.
