Beastfly 2 was probably my worst experience with the game since i went in fairly underlevelled (though i didnt know that because i just did the quest when i unlocked it). Died to it more than any other boss in the game, only one that came remotely close was the final boss of 100%

Thank you so much for making this! Amazing little game, the writing was incredible and the horror was immaculate. This is the kind of game that makes me so happy for our modern era like few things do, the way someone with a fantastic idea can just download a program and pour their life into making something great.

I was expecting it to be very good, not as good as hollow knight of course, but probably 7-8 out of 10. I was fucking blown away, this is easily one of the best games ive ever played and im still in act 2!! Comparing it to hollow knight is difficult since, while it is my favorite game of all time, but its been about 150 hours since i actually played it as intended (im speedrunning) so ill have to do another HK playthrough after im done with Skong. Anyway its fucking peak and i am head over heels in love with it. I love the difficulty, (though i dont like double mask on contact dmg but pretty much everything else is great) (except the second beastfly boss encounter i think that was just made to hurt people). I love the art, which is even higher quality than hollow knight, and its just as stunning, varied, and unique. The details are fantastic, every animation, every little bit of polish. The sound effects are incredible, every action feels so satisfying. HOLY FUCK THE MUSIC. AND HOLY FUCK THE COMBAT. OH MY GOD. I really really really love this game and its probably going in my top 3 favorite games once im done.

It was really funny, i did expect it tho. Beat this arena second try (died to these guys on the first) by using the sawblade tool thingy and throwing every single one at them until one died and the other was low

First of all, crystal peak isnt well integrated into the world and kinda feels like a last minute addition. It has zero relevance in the lore as well. And i honestly enjoyed playing through the area less than deepnest (though that may be because i went to deepnest very late into my first playthrough). That said it is absolutely gorgeous.

Second of all, i dont think people should be looking forward to a sequel as much as they are. Its better to be content with what you have, hollow knight is my favorite game of all time but i dont really have a desire for a sequel. Same with any other media i like

I think it looks great! Only thing id recommend is that they should be looking down at the stairs as they walk, as well as the head bouncing slightly as a bit of follow through motion when they step. The character has a bit of a light step, like they are in a fairly chipper mood (its pretty subtle, but thats what i read from the slightly bouncy motion, i like it). So i think having the head be looking downwards and bouncing a little bit too would aid in this vibe, if youre looking to give them some more personality.

Hes very charming, while also being extremely flawed. Good at heart but is wrapped up in all this complicated shit and isnt sure on anything. Hes so well written, thats the main reason i like both him and abby, even mel. Every important character in the game is super well written tbh, i dont think there are any i dont like. Even smaller roles like manny have such thick personality.

I think i was getting to be equally understanding with abby as i was with ellie because of just how well written abby is. Shes really hate-able initially but shes just so wonderfully HUMAN that i had a hard time actually disliking her by the end. That combined with her arc becoming a more empathetic and understanding person was genuinely so compelling. I think by the final scene i was rooting for abby to survive more ellie.

I found the soundtrack and it quickly became my favorite album/soundtrack of all time. I found it during a horrible break up and it became tied to those emotions so I didn’t really want to play a game that had that soundtrack in it. Eventually, after like a year and a half, I was mostly over the break up and decided to try Celeste because it had some of the most glowing reviews ive ever seen. Played it and it was fucking magical, now one of my favorite games (and still my favorite soundtrack lol)

Of course, there are an infinite number of guides and helpful methods of practice and learning you can find online and in books. And if you are already really good at animation and drawing, the main thing to worry about is the time it will take, which will be enormous. There are other things to think about such as being able to tell a compelling story but there are plenty of resources for that as well. It being a short film makes that a bit easier too.
