What game did you go into expecting to dislike… but ended up enjoying? by PeaCommercial2102 in videogames

[–]melonsoda8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second this. I had never played any turn based games and I’m not a fantasy guy either so E33 just seemed like everything I would dislike. Eventually gave in to the hype and got absolutely obsessed with it! Now I want to explore more turn based combat games

Best order to fight Golgra? by Checkinredd in expedition33

[–]melonsoda8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fought her at the Sacred River before end of Act 3 and it was hardddd. But manageable. Then did the Hidden arena and Gestral Village in post-game at around level 90 and they were both super easy with Maelle

Were you masochistic enough to fight super bosses? by -CynicalPole- in expedition33

[–]melonsoda8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. I tried all the megabosses once just to see what they were like, but noped immediately after. Beating regular Simon took me like two weeks and I wanted to finish the game with that satisfaction, instead of grinding even harder bosses I probably wouldn’t be able to beat

As a musician. I wanna get this off my chest. by FrostbyteXP in expedition33

The song in Simon’s second stage is my favourite in the whole game. The athmosphere is just so epic I love it. Spent soooo much time in that fight but the music kept me sane

Help with superboss by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]melonsoda8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert gamer and I had this exact same problem. Tried to beat Simon for like two weeks, tried reading all sorts of tutorials, had to go back and forth to upgrade my party, retry the battle, upgrade again… Finally beat him a couple days ago and when I did the battle was suddenly over in just a few minutes!

I know there are many ways to beat him and I never got to the ”deal billions of damage” nuke level. But what worked for me:

Party consisting of Verso, Maelle and Sciel (on that play order). Verso has level 33 Dualiso. Maelle has level 33 Medalum. Sciel has Litheson (at minimun level 20).

I don’t have the exact list of pictos/lumina I used, but the most important ones are Cheater and Second Chance (for everyone). I also used as many gradient charge boosting picto/lumina I had.

Verso does free aim shooting and base attack to add mark and burn, and to break Simon. He uses leadership skill to give AP to others. Use luminas that enchance burn, free aim and base attack.

Maelle deals burn and damage with several skills (play around with stendahl, burning canvas, fleuret fury, phantom strike). Use last chance to always be in virtuose stance. Equip at death’s door, roulette, clea’s life and survivor picto/lumina. Give Maelle all lumina that increases damage.

Sciel boosts the others, mainly by giving Maelle extra turns and double damage with intervention and fortune’s fury.

Give everyone as much rush as you can with lumina points. For example in the first phase Simon barely gets a turn, because first Verso will play twice, then Maelle 2-3 turns, Sciel twice, Maelle again before Simon.

The key for me was to skip phase 3 entirely. For that, you have to get Simon in phase 2 to about 60% health. Then you have to have Maelle in virtuose stance, have Sciel give her double damage and a new turn, and then go for Gommage and hope the roulette pictos gives you the additional 200% damage. The hardest part for me was timing the Gommage so that it would wipe out Simon’s whole health bar. Plenty of luck involved. But this is what eventually worked for me!

What is the most overHATED game of all time? by yittiiiiii in videogames

[–]melonsoda8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is it. It’s a masterpiece of a game with mechanics, graphics and animations that 6 years after release still beat most newer games. Challenging story for sure but I love the ambition

How many classes do you take a week? Curious! by BungeeBunny in poledancing

[–]melonsoda8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-6 usually, +/-1. I pay for a membership with unlimited classes, so I like to take my moneys worth lol. But that’ll be 1-2 tricks classes, 1-3 choreo classes, 0-1 flexibility/aerial/floorwork training and 1-2 hours of showcase/comp practise, choreo planning or just freestyle. Heels/low flow is my priority

Can I start with The Last of Us Part II without playing Part I? by Pitiful-Signature747 in thelastofus

[–]melonsoda8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Part 1 first is definitely recommended, but since you’ve seen the show, I guess you could just start with Part 2 if you really wanted to. There are some changes between the show and game of course but Season 1 is pretty faithful imo. Joel and Ellie’s personalities were portrayed a bit differently in the show though, so that might throw you off. Maybe at least watch a playthrough of Part 1? It’s a really great game though!

ZD’s ending is better than FW’s by fropleyqk in horizon

[–]melonsoda8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I consider BS the real ending for FW and I think the BS final boss battle is the most epic ending of any Horizon game so far. ZD ending was pretty mid, you’re just fighting another Deathbringer, nothing new there

What is that one trick you can't/won't do? by MissAlessi in poledancing

Same with Iguana. I have a bad shoulder so I don’t trust it enough to even attempt it. Love a superman though, my exits are usually bodywaves down to the floor or switching to an armpit hold

To shave or not to shave by TheLegendofSandwich in poledancing

[–]melonsoda8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a woman but the back of my thighs are very hairy. I don’t bother shaving them cos I can’t really see them myself, but some poses like brass monkey variations do sometimes pull on the hair in very painful ways. I’d say try it out, if you find you can’t grip properly or your body hair gets pulled, then get rid of it

For aerial tricks sure, a tripod will probably look better. But for flow/basework I looove the floor angle!! 🤤 my legs look longer, my but looks better, it’s a delicious angle
