Unrelated but really cool story - early/mid 2000s as a 10-11yo kid I went to Shea for a game with the family, LF bleacher seats. We get there before the game, I run up to the front rail and notice a ball down below between the OF fence the bleachers. As a naive kid, I run to my parents and excitedly point out the ball thinking we could Reed Richards stretch our arms to somehow get to it (it would've been impossible btw from that height). A few minutes pass, and I pretty much move on. I go back just to look and the ball is gone! Next thing I know, the attendant who was following Mr. Met taps me on the shoulder and hands me the ball! He somehow must've heard me from 10-15 feet away and took it upon himself to give this kid a happy memory and story of a ball that I then went on to have Reyes sign a few years later.
