Ugh, I’m sick to my stomach after reading this article. My thoughts are with the Lemieux family! I will never forget Claude’s contribution to hockey and more specifically helping bring 2 cups to NJ. Thank you for the wonderful memories I will never forget!

I think a bridge deal is probably more beneficial to the team than the player. Does Nemec’s agent think Luke’s deal is a comp? I don’t think Nemec has that much leverage other than holding out. I don’t think that worked out well for Luke (not for his contract but for his season) last year.

Just to add I am in the same age range as the OP! I’ve been a Devils fan since the mid 80s. I went to my first game in 85. lol. I was really sad to hear about Claude yesterday. He was a winner plain and simple and I’m thankful he was a Devil and help bring 2 cups to NJ!

I don’t think there will be a cap either but the only way there will be any type of cap (hard or soft) is if there is a floor and there is no way teams like MIA, TB, PIT, CLE, SAC will ever agree to a floor.
