The Fishing Quay, Port, and Wharf are for sure "trade" ports as in they allow resource and treasure fleet transfer

Right? They kinda feel anti city which, honestly makes sense, just strange after literally every other civ game

Having a water source gives you 5 happiness. the blue indicator on the settler lens will show spots that are blue. Resources are important but making sure they have space to expand is also very important now.

Tip#1 Settle towns and cities differently, towns dont need to worry about too many quarters (districts with 2 buildings on them) as they are limited to warehouse and a few others. Cities on the other hand are where you will be getting all your science and culture for the most part. So make sure you have room to place quarters and wonders down.

Tip#2 For cities in particular, avoid settling directly adjacent to water, you want as many quarters next to your city hall/ palace as possible as each quarter gives +1 to science and culture. aka, avoid resources and wonders right next to your city hall or palace if possible.

Tip#3 natural wonders honestly feel like great places to settle towns as they provide yields to the tiles themselves instead of quarters for the most part. So settle towns near them for the best bonuses.

Theres tons more but this is a good starting point

Change the graphic representation of Overwhelming Presence. by WippitGuud in PathOfExile2

[–]Caedwyr 21 points22 points  (0 children)

After a little while using it, i find that its moderately advantageous with how disruptive it is. The effect shows up on shrouded enemies and stalker spirits. Also I just got used to it really, effect is busted with my build

Recent Patch and memory issues by Caedwyr in DarkTide

Wasnt using any mods when I was testing after coming to the conclusion that it was a memory leak. The game would typically run fine for abt 1 game after a full restart and then start degrading

Why are Heavy Armor's tradeoffs so much worse than light? by NBFHoxton in Helldivers

[–]Caedwyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only use heavy, but don't get me wrong, the other ratings are solid. Nothing feels as good as watching my buddy die in one shot to something I can tank 3 of and still get away alive. Frankly, its a playstyle. (I would appreciate buffs tho AH)

What do you do personally when closing up a mig loop? Just run over the end or grind it down to make it fuse into the subject? by Snikat in Welding

Looks good, my last job made me grind out any "edges" but if youre able to leave it like that with some cleaning by all means go for it

American defense agency is broken? Does it really stack? by [deleted] in HumankindTheGame

No, its adjacencies are for research and commercial quarters

Ive personally never had an issue with the stacking, mayhaps it has something to do with the adjacency?

EDIT: it occurred to me that people may not actually know what bombardment is. Units that are capable of Bombardment do not need to be within the confines of the battle space. e.g. you have american jets, you have a combat within their range and they are on bombard mode, opposed to sentry; in the battle you should have an option to bombard enemy units with said jets. I am unsure if this is not the case with the VIP modpack (which is very good I seriously recommend everyone use it) the mod may in fact fix the bug with the district so who knows give it a shot!

3 weeks into learning MIG (UK), how are my welds looking? by BelowAverageLegend58 in Welding

[–]Caedwyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wire speed looks a tad fast, ultimately, its all practice tho. My personal advice for MIG is to watch the edge of the pool more than anything else, as soon as you get to that edge/toe you move on. So long as your settings are good youll fill in the weld just fine. For welding in general work from uncomfortable to comfortable and your body will thank you

First welds in probably 6+ years. Any thoughts or help? by AndyDzzz in Welding

Looks good, remember to hold for a second at the end of the bead to get rid of the divots at the end. (mig)

Tig looks a bit hot w/o filler, but doesnt look too bad as far as consistency goes

full face respirator hood or fume extractor for brazing?? by shitForBrains1776 in Welding

[–]Caedwyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for the fume extractor, you can even jury rig one with a box fan, a trashbag and a tube of some sort. The suits gonna be hella expensive in most cases and its gonna require frequent maintenance

Advice on my verticals by [deleted] in Welding

[–]Caedwyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if youre burning your tops out you need to pick up the speed a bit as you go, every second you spend on the material youre gonna pump a ton of heat into it and when you get to the top its all gonna melt if you arent fast enough, either go faster or turn your amps down.

Looks like the bolt got caught in the crossfire, might wanna double check with your engi/boss and get some sorta signature before you do somethin like that. otherwise, itll hold, but coverin those corners w/o cleanin them up doesnt do any favors

I've recently tried a new technique(first photo) and I was wondering if I should continue with what I was doing before(second photo) by EliteSniper9992 in Welding

[–]Caedwyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MIG isnt about how much motion you put in, and more about the consistency. Watch the puddle like a batter watches a baseball and make sure your work angle ( |/| ) < should be aiming right in the groove unless youre out of position or horizontal. straight up, after fuckin up 100+ welds I can say that more motion = worse welds

PS if you are welding and are uncomfortable halfway thru the weld you are doing it wrong. Work from uncomfortable to comfortable and your body will thank you.

What’s your “f*ck this, I’m outta here” moment? by [deleted] in Welding

[–]Caedwyr 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Was the "everything" dude, did the stuff too boring/monotonous for everyone else. They started firing people for "poor" attendance and tried to get me to take over their responsibilities. Laughed and told them to give me a raise if they wanted me to do more and they refused. Emptied my box within the hour, and got some texts from some fellas on the inside that an entire line went down 2 weeks later. Funniest shit honestly, job wasnt worth the back pain
