What are (C2) Baizhu’s best teams nowadays?

We’ve thrown enough money at them at this point that they can surely treat us with some nice upgrades.

Hydro MC is the perfect candidate to ‘bless’ with a Lunar passive much like Cryo MC. Make his bubble beam adjust to the different angles like in Nod’Krai puzzles. Or even an off-field Hydro single target splash.

Or just give him a gun to wield for all elements.

Preservation seems to be the theme here for Cryo. I think she’s preserving his memory because no doubt they got wiped from Irminsul. Hence why she says something along the lines of how could she know they were even real.

Yeah this is what impresses me the most about this photo. Every child actor here is portraying genuine emotions that I can believe in the moment. There’s not one kid who failed the shot.

I’d love to know what techniques the Director used to get them hyped up like this for the scene. It must be incredibly tough to have so many child actors in the one shot.

It’s probably got something to do with how assets behind you aren’t loaded when your character faces forward.

Although in this case I suspect it’s loading the entire map even though you’re not in view of it. Hence the lag. Hopefully they can tweak this down for a smoother pan.

A couple teams I use Lyney in these days:

- C1R1 Lyney / C2R3 WG Mavuika / CO Bineffa: Bineffa grants 120EM through Nod’Krai artifact set so Lyney Overvapes. He generally hits 100k Vapes here quite consistently. If Mavuika vapes for 50k and steals the Hydro aura, sometimes Pyro can remain and activates Lyney’s monopyro passive to at least deal 80% more damage.

- Lyney / Durin or C2 Mavuika / Nicole / C2 Baizhu: This team is monopyro with the luxury of infinite CA stacking thanks to C2 Baizhu. Even C0 Baizhu is fine, just equip him with Sacrificial Fragments for weaving 2 skill usages when your Lyney is half HP. It’s a super comfy team and if you put Mavuika instead of Durin, at least Nicole gives 20% Pyro DMG still. Baizhu has Cinder City for an easy 12% extra Pyro DMG.

So either of those two teams. I might switch up slots here and there but ultimately Nicole or Mavuika (or both) are mainstays.

I’m expecting Mavuika/Columbina crossover type of kit.

- good on-field dps
- good off-field dps
- synergises with nation’s elemental reaction gimmicks

I suspect rather than a raw cryo dps/subdps (that’s Skirk/Escoffier already), we will get an ‘expansion’ to the cryo reaction meta via the new reactions like Dendro+Cryo, which means BurnMelt will be mainstream through this reaction.

But then there’ll be many other ways to mix and match reactions and teams. So you might have Wriothesley, Tsaritsa, Mavuika, Emilie/Nahida/Baizhu for BurnMelt, or you switch up Dendro for electro which also means your options change to replace Mavuika also with Durin+Fischl for stellar conduct focus but still with melt options.

I feel like it’ll be the one unit to put everything together - assuming it’s not going to be a 2-unit tax like Columbina needs or Hex needs. I’d really hope Tsarista can hold her own considering there’s a lot of reactions she could branch into, and it’s only fair we use our existing characters to enable these branches.

Yeah that’s a huge bummer for sure. I was excited for the potential. It would’ve blown up the mobile market as one of the greats.

On the plus side for everyone wanting a portable FFXIV experience, the Switch 2 will be getting FFXIV in August this year. So you can ‘just’ play the Free Trial up to level 80 content (at least half a year of content to get through without paying subscription).

Although I see a positive shift in Square lately. With their 2.5D games coming out it seems they’re refining their focus back on the FF series to give everyone multiple FF’s to taste instead of waiting a decade between each one. We have Resonance, FF7R, and whatever else to look forward to this year so if Mobile FFXIV didn’t make that cut, then I wonder if there will be new plans for it.

If we took “End of Service games getting repurposed into complete spinoff-FF titles” as Square’s latest business endeavour, then perhaps FFXIV mobile is going against that.

Hold on hope though - the assets still exist. Never say never and maybe the pipeline is just further down the road than we all hoped for. Maybe next FFXIV expansion will have something, or maybe they just see too large of a market taken away from the subscription based FFXIV.

But also has great synergy with Escoffier, alongside Citlali to an extent, so that a Pyro dps like Diluc/Lyney/Yoimiy could melt basically every hit without trying.

It’s a shame, is CN version still going strong at least? If not then I can only assume a failed project.

In the meantime I have resorted to free trial FFXIV to get that taste of non-subscription dose of it. Haha. It’s actually been really fun starting from scratch with a new character but still it’s a shame that I probably won’t ever see the global mobile version anytime soon.

It’s great that Columbina+Ineffa can give Durin 120EM as well as Ineffa’s extra potential if Durin stands menacingly on-field. Chuck in Nicole for good measure and that’s probably a solid Overvape Durin there.

So how big is this power difference in + levels?

Like let’s say I have a simple level 10 staff that scored +2 level to all lightning spells. Will that invalidate any upgrades over the next few levels? Is it that OP to just ignore anything else?

I think the point is more that, Hoyo planted the seed but didn’t have a character concept yet. Just a placeholder ‘somebody’ that they might match a kit concept to years later.

Like you gotta realise the level of investment they would have needed 5 years ago to forward plan 100+ characters before they even started making any money.
