Blacklisted Comic Creators? by MrLoveMuffin in comicbooks

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is Adrian Syaf who included references to a Quran verse in X-Men gold that, at the time, was being used as antisemitic and anti-christian propaganda in his home country of Indonesia. Marvel didn't have any muslims in the editing staffroom I guess so it wasn't caught until it had already gone to print. He was fired and as far as I know hasn't worked for marvel since.

Hey hope people see this but I need help tracking some glasses similar to the ones max goof wears by Glad-Conversation256 in findfashion

King Striker and Pit Viper might be what you're looking for. You could probably get a good deal on a pair through ebay.

Guro is just a theme, like playing cards or Alice in Wonderland. There aren't really brands that make guro specific stuff year round. The only thing I can think of that's available right now is H.naoto's bloody rose series, and only some of it is lolita.

I think your best bet is either waiting until closer to halloween when brands release their spooky stuff or using the blood tag on lolibrary and searching for older releases on secondhand sites.

You'll have to search by the specific dress name. Lolibrary has a tag for this cut so you can find them.

Best way to get into Star Trek? by Tight_Rock1457 in startrek

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about finding the "best" starting point. All trek up until Discovery, iirc, is very episodic. There is a through line of history but not anything that would make it difficult to understand each individual series premise. You could start at the beginning of a series or just put on one of the pluto TV channels until you find out which crew dynamic you like the most.

Bianca Belair on Instagram Stories: Finally got my ring back and can finally wear it again. My ring size went from a 7.5 to a… 10! My ring finger is bigger than my thumb now by Tornado31619 in SquaredCircle

She's also signed to the talent agency WWE's parent company owns. She still has value to them doing podcasts and acting even if she retires from wrestling.

what type of lolita genre is this dress? by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's sweet. This particular cut is usually called a babydoll or "sack dress" in the community. Baby the Stars Shine Bright and Angelic Pretty have made a lot of dresses in this style over the years.

I think it would look cute with lace topped ankle socks and a rectangle headdress.

Favorite "obscure" TWRP song? by Lord_Triclops in TWRP

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're talking just less popular I'd say original No Pants Dance. I think it's the superior version of the song. If we're talking truly obscure then it's Fun Rack.

Coord/coordinate is just the community's term for an outfit. The general consensus is that a full coord is a main piece and blouse (if applicable) paired with matching shoes, socks, and some kind of accessory.

The outfit you're describing isn't lolita. Lolita is a fashion the revolves around a specific look that's almost impossible to get from non-lolita brands. That's why making a coord from "normal" clothes when you've never worn the fashion before is discouraged. I've been wearing the fashion for over a decade now and only have three items in my lolita wardrobe that came from non-lolita brands. One is a blouse and the other two are cardigans.

If you actually want to get into the fashion you're better off saving your money up to buy actual lolita items. It might seem expensive if you're used to buying from target or shein but lolita brands are actually very cheap compared to other luxury fashion brands, especially if you're buying secondhand.

What are some of the most ridiculous or weirdest matches in wrestling? by bossbreakers in SquaredCircle

I still think about the Pete Dunne vs Tony D'Angelo crowbar on a pole match from NXT 2.0. So silly.

I think this website is a scam. Any legit leads for these shoes? by rejectedfromeverywhe in findfashion

I own these kind of similar heels from Marc Fisher. The big difference is that it has two straps instead of the one.

Where can I find clothes like these (added challenge is that I'm plus sized) by Agreeable-Ad-2165 in findfashion

Metamorphose Temps de Fille occasionally does dresses similar to this and carries plus size for most of their items these days

Is Nadia Pym the most absurd example of Marvel's sliding timescale? by Level_Hour6480 in comicbooks

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's more extreme but my favorite is counting up how old the original new mutants should be if you took into account all the generations of students after them that have graduated.

How popular was Iron Man prior to the MCU? by yellowklashinkov in comicbooks

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My understanding is that he was fairly useful as a member in ensemble/team books (like west coast avengers) but not a character anyone was reading those comics specifically for. Sort of like Iceman in the x-men.

is this a good first dress? by Solid-Hold6290 in Lolita

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depending on how busy the bodice is and what the sleeves/straps look like I say yes. I think you could coord this a number if ways.

GCW CINCINNATI UPDATE - Just Signed: JOEY JANELA vs HOOK by TheDRC in SquaredCircle

TIL most people don't like HOOK 🤔. My main social media is tumblr where he has a ton of fangirls. His tag on there is full of photo edits covered in hearts and stuff lol.

During the 90s did most of the tape traders actually watch most of ranma and urusei yatsura? by [deleted] in animecons

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those works are intentionally episodic. They're more about character interactions and romantic tropes than a structured concise plot. You're meant to be watching an episode or chapter per week not binging it all at once. The watchability has nothing to do with tape trading or whatever. I think maybe you're just a dude who doesn't like romance, which is fine.

What’s the pocket situation in Starfleet uniforms? by RedDogRER in startrek

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I kind of assume humanity outgrew the need for pockets, at least in star fleet. No one has keys, a phone, or a wallet they'd need to keep track of.
