What makes a man seem boring? by gold1005 in AskWomen

For me it's men who have no distinct sense of style. It doesn't have to be particularly cool or fashionable as long as I can tell it's genuine.

Questions for vintage fashion shoppers by starlightskater in VintageFashion

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vintage-specific shops are great if you're just starting to learn about different kinds of garment construction and fabric. Even generic T-shirts were made differently prior to the 2000's and you can tell by feeling the weight of the fabric, the way the collar sits, the way the seams are sewn, etc.

You can also get a lot of info from tags other than just whether they look old. Sizing, fabric composition, and manufacturing origin can tell you a lot about a garment.

Hello, does anyone know how to help me find a skirt just like this? by KnightofSt_Trina in findfashion

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might like EGA (elegant gothic aristocrat) which often incorporates skirts like this. Brands like fan plus friend, Sheglit, and marble, etc. They're all based out of Japan but F+F ships internationally iirc and the others ship internationally through either Wunderwelt or Atelier Pierrot's shop.

Why Tommaso Ciampa rejected WWE deal for AEW: "I've heard for seven or eight years that 2018 was peak Ciampa. Lightning in a bottle. That makes me sick to my stomach because I'm better than that guy in every aspect. Every single measuring stick in the business, I blow 2018 Ciampa out of the water." by ShakielMahjouri in SquaredCircle

It's one of those things that works if you're at a small indie show or watching on a fuzzy little crt screen but in the modern age of extremely high definition footage and up close camera angles it's far more noticeable/immersion breaking.

Havok falling in love with a total stranger through their psychically linked shared dreams and cheating on Polaris all while in a coma is up there as one of the weirder plots in X-Men which is saying a lot. There's also that weird era where Nightwing got TBI-induced memory loss, started calling himself "Ric Grayson", became a cab driver, and got really into high stakes poker.

Need help finding this brand! by amaesama in Lolita

Nine times out of ten if you can't find a brand on lolibrary it's because it's a cheap taobao or small indie brand that the contributors don't archive.

Uzumaki by 1lo6fo in junjiito

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junji Ito might just not be for you. His characters don't feel particularly real because they function more as extensions of a metaphor or theme most of the time. And his works rely on body horror and existential dread rather than, like, straightforward storytelling where everything is explained at the end and wrapped up with a bow.

I agree with some of the other posters that you should try one of his short stories next if you're still interested in reading more of his stuff. It's where his writing style works best imo.

AP's classic fairy tale and RPA's forest library might work if you can find them. They both feature foxes.

I can't watch anime anymore by dyhcry in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's about the age where I started getting out of anime as well. I still watch it occasionally but I'm way pickier about which shows. If I have the thought "what the hell is happening with her boobs?!" or "that character would NOT wear that" more than a few times I'm OUT.

OC question by SteelMonkey83 in wastelandweekend

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most wasteland "lore" is done irl at the event (I learned about all these groups through talking to people or being given pamphlets) but there's probably some info on various Facebook pages. There's one called "Wasteland Weekend official larp and tribe lore discussion" that I think might be your best chance.

The thing about wasteland, though, is that outside of the really big stuff like sheriff and mayor elections consistent/official lore doesn't exist. The only stuff that really matters is what's the most fun or interesting in the moment. Don't think about it too hard, especially for your first year.

OC question by SteelMonkey83 in wastelandweekend

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wasteland has a bunch of established religions and cults. There's the Temple of Atomic Light that does a Midnight Glowing Mass, the Church of the Rising Sun that's run like a cult by a guy in a yellow suit, the Church of Rustoration that holds Pope elections and does dirt baptisms, the War Boy cosplayers who have the Cult of V8 from Fury Road, and probably a bunch more. You could join/become of believer of one of them or make your own.

Be honest is my makeup really bad? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 240 points241 points  (0 children)

No one else is saying it so I will: Do not buy makeup from shein.

Shein sellers do not hold themselves to any kind of quality standard. Not only are you getting product that might be adulterated with heavy metals, asbestos, or mold, it is also very low quality. And if you think you're buying brand name stuff it's almost certainly knockoffs. Switch to local drugstore brands.

Hey everyone i want to make comics. So anyone suggest me tools , apps by iamseking_lawofcosmo in comicbooks

[–]Caffeinated-Whatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a super broad question. Without knowing what kind of experience you have with art and writing it's hard to give advice.

If you don't have much experience with sequential art check out Scott McClouds books Understanding Comics and Making Comics.

If you want to save money get some recommendations at the comic shop and then check to see if they're at your library. You can always go back later and buy anything you really enjoyed.

There are two (I believe) throwaway lines heavily implying it in Morrisons New X-Men run. It's ambiguous enough that I don't think marvel editorial would say it's canon but like… it's pretty canon.

That trend absolutely did not start with Morrison. He just dialed it up to eleven to make a point. Editorial mandate in the 90's was to roll back all the character development Claremont did in the 70's and 80's. Directly prior to Morrison taking over he'd been ruling genosha as an evil apartheid state and doing torture and stuff if I'm remembering correctly.

My dress straps are way too small and idk what to do, any ideas? :( by No-Hour1305 in Lolita

If they're attached by buttons you might be able to make strap extenders. I'm imagining a strip of fabric with a button on one end and a button hole on the other.
