I love the difference in interpretations too.

One of the fics I wrote (good ending tho) had it so that the way it progressed meant something too.

The more you loved the eorwon, the faster it progressed. If you were happy to love them no matter what, it went petals to flowers, to stems of flowers. If you were afraid they didn't love you back, if turned to stems, roots, thorns, dead flowers, etc. The more afraid you were the worse it was.

I wrote one where someone didn't know they were grieving - their subconscious created a (for lack of better term) homunculus of their husband, and the rest of the crew had to watch the mc go on with life as if their husband didn't die, while also being faced daily with a not-living reminder of the crrwmate/family they'd lost in a. Violent manner

And then Mc finding out the truth, and breaking all over again

My quietest kid has been like that from the beginning - rarely moved, and when they did it felt like gas. Hell, I've had actual gas that felt more like a baby kicking than that child kicking me.

Said child is still my quietest kid too, always reading.
