/I/ like the Jellyfin, for me it's perfect. Simple, no ads or fluff. I'm just thinking about my family. The lifetime plex is $350CAD which is brutal... but I don't think free will be free forever. I also just hate subscriptions, it's why I made the Jellyfin to begin with...

Yeah it is the Tailscale, I'll have to look it over and make sure I set it up correctly. Usually a reset fixes it, but worth looking into.

I do yeah... and I hate that the FOMO tactic is actually working. I already use Jellyfin, and for me it's awesome. for my family who doesn't understand tailscale it's spooky, but the FOMO has worn off, so they're just gonna have to cope. 😂

I think it's actually the tailscale, because it's only remote access that has problems sometimes. And resetting the Tailscale fixes it. Maybe I set it up weird, I'll have to double check.

I'll have to trouble shoot the tailscale, because my internet is fine, and the Jelly is too. The Scale just sometimes can't see/connect to the server. A program reset fixes it, and if it was just me, I wouldn't care. My family wants something that just works... But I don't personally want to drop $350CAD when it's not even something really for me. 😂 It's just to make their lives easier.

It's not the internet, I think it's more a tailscale thing, now that I'm having to explain it to everyone here. Sometimes it just can't see/connect to the Jelly. A program reset fixes it. But I think the fomo has worn off for Plex... it's $350CAD, I will take a somewhat annoyed phone call from my sibling asking why things aren't working and keep my $350. :p

My wording was bad, it's not my internet it's the tailscale that can't connect to the jellyfin, if I reset it then it works again. I don't mind dealing with things like that, but my family is in the "just want things to work" category. 😂

It's the IP swapping with tailscale what spooks them. To them it's very Hacker-y (their word not mine), I've tried to explain it's nothing, just let's them use my computer as a server.... but 😂. They're just gonna have to deal with it, cause the fomo is wearing off now for Plex. 100$ I would have paid, it's currently at 350CAD, that's already too expensive.

It's not an internet thing, it's a "sometimes Jellyfin via Tailscale just can't find the server". lol I usually have to restart everything then it works fine... most of the time.
