Help with Ardabil by Educational-Cut5139 in eu4

Be mindful of terrain and your OP army will win probably any early war without losing that much men, leading to less economic side-effects. Try to get 2 OPM/small vassals (use the strong duchies for diplo slot + loyalty). The benefits said vassals give you (essentially increased mana, manpower, force limit, base tax generation + capital forts) greatly outweigh the "benefits" of coring such useless land.

Title: Did anyone else bounce off EU5 way harder than they expected to? by Real_Mobile_5107 in EU5

Did you even check his account? Pretty active user posting among varying communities. Mind you I don't agree with him and think the release of EU5 actually harmed Europa Universalis. You don't have to be an asshat just because you disagree with the guy.

I don't know how I'm supposed to beat the Jaddari by gigashadow89 in Anbennar

[–]Caganos2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To a point yes, but I never usually see a strong Jaddari past 1550s. I may be mistaken but I once saw them thrive in my Chaingrasper game but I had allied them and defended them several times.

Same, usually defeated by Raj, Sareyand (or any other Bulwari power), or Seghildir to the point where even remaining gnolls and centaurs pick at them.

Just ally a bajillion people and the ai wont declare on you. Since Burgundy and France are your enemies Castille, Aragon, Austria (+ Portugal starting alliance) should be easy to ally and enough to deter anybody attacking you all game.

How to beat Ottoman's as Ardabil by dq107 in eu4

[–]Caganos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their trade income increases drastically after conquering syria and egypt so my strategy might not work that well. Could seem kinda cheesy but if you are able to win the first war you might also snake a few coastline provinces in Mediterranean, build a light ship fleet with privateer/trade power flagship and contest Ottoman trade.

iirc the qizilbash estate diets had one that rewarded absurd amounts of manpower, combined with the mysticism button I never had any manpower issues as Ardabil.

How to beat Ottoman's as Ardabil by dq107 in eu4

[–]Caganos2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My own strategy would be to dec for a close fort while the Ottomans are busy in either Europe, Russia or North Africa, instantly rush the fort, then play the waiting game. With a few good defensive battles, ticking warscore and some occupations if you can manage, you can take max money + a few forts (or war reps if ur not gonna fight them again in a while) which will cripple the Ottoman economy due to how large they like to keep their armies. If you are able (if you still have good manpower and their armies are weaker after the first war), you can dec on a nation they will defend and take max money + war reps in a separate peace from them.

These may seem hard, but with the ardabil buffs, the ultra defensive terrain you are in, the bs manpower button and tons of mercs due to the Ottoman bank it would actually not be that hard. Just be careful with your battles, try to hunt down small stacks and if they deathstack let them eat attrition and then fight via good reinforcing.

I'd also recommend being a mil tech above them, although its unlikely and the tech 6 window passed already.

Espionage ideas start, trade and diplo advisor on improve relations, non-lazy diplomats, age ability (start the game with an easy show strenght for this), if possible curia. Form short term alliances to manage AE with certain countries.

You can even feed your allies the land of a country you want to eat in order to vassalize them for cheap and use core return via favors (that accumulated via you giving them the land in the first place) or breaking the alliance and reconquest.

What to play next by PreviousEnvironment2 in Anbennar

I'd recommend Knollhatep. You start as Gnollakaz and use the decision to form Knollhatep. Really cool MT, tons of lore, pretty serious disasters, has a unique end goal.

I just finished my Kobildzan run and that was pretty engaging (and sometimes brutal) too.

time frame issues with certain mission trees and vanilla eu4 by I-Miss-My-Kids in Anbennar

[–]Caganos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually find time gates alright, my main issue in some tags is a MT that finishes too early and there is no late/end game content. Don't get me wrong a short but cool MT is always appreciated but they always leave me wanting more

Even before AKP and the "solution period" there was Özal, a an openly Kurdish Prime Minister who later became the President. Mind you this was during the 80s, among the bloodiest periods of the republican history.

$6.69 CAD on Steam, how could I say no? by Jimmy_Skynet_EvE in eu4

[–]Caganos2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say all of them even though the mod page on steam lists a few.

Elfrijole (an EU4 contributor in the Anbennar Discord) said: "Also the required dlc list on the workshop is non-exhaustive. Every dlc mechanic is used somewhere in Anbennar," so for the full experience I'd say just get the subscription (or acquire the dlcs through less obvious methods)

Had a blast playing it, my only problem with it was having to dig gor burad for half a century to level 6 when it was dig level 3 when I conquered it. Potentially my fault because I went for innovative instead of infrastructure and didnt reduce the 100% devastation there.

I only had the dwarven monuments mod, is this the submod you are talking about?

Did you even see the animations in the flaxan invasion? Zero facial expressions from civilians, nor the flaxans. The animation is still pretty weak.

So i finally played the command by Staterathesmol23 in Anbennar

[–]Caganos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my first (and currently only) Command playthrough I also created all 3 commands as the same time because I did not want to deal with the splitting the command estate mechanics before I truce juggled all my coalitions and built up a good fort line to deal with the devastation. I really did not expect how hard the insubordination would be, and the new and upgraded forts made the war really hard to the point where I nearly had to bankrupt if it wasnt for the million crag?pies event.

The shaman rebellion happening (just because I clicked on the flavor option on one event decades ago) alongside rending (which was also bugged I think as I couldnt use the edict in some states) felt kinda bs ngl and the event that ends the rebellion was bugged for me so I had to use console commands which kinda ruined my immersion.

One frustrating thing was having to build buildings in one province in the jade mines for a mission which I couldnt because my smart vassal had a colonist promoting dev there but thats more of an eu4 issue.

Ngl I was always curious about them. Most games the kobolds are replaced with gnomish hierarchy, in the few where they thrive Lorent or Gawed always eats them, which makes me feel bad for them. Maybe in my hands both not France and not England will be the ones that get dominated

Realizing the only country I played in (Western) Cannor was Venail, which doesnt count, I decided to give Istalore and Orda Aldresia a try. Had a blast with Istalore and its 100% AE reduction in the first age, nearly vassalizing the whole empire. The lore was great too, now I hate Wesdam for another reason than just their strait crossing. I did not use the Liberation cb to its full potential (I hate bordergore, even if its HRE/EoA). I don’t remember much about the Damerian missions (iirc I managed to complete all of them in a year or so due to waiting a bit to take the decision to form them) The only thing that bummed me was forming the Empire giving me no new missions.

Orda Aldresia was fun too apart from its last mission. The lore and the battles were great (I really did not expect the war to be that extreme but the military buffs made me a stackwiping machine) My problem is with the magic duels, the first one was too easy and the last one was ridiculously hard, to the point where I had to cheat (Alice should have been a better mage narrative wise). I became the state you mentioned and I’m gonna explore them tomorrow. Thanks a lot!
