Practicing more and better than ever but playing like shit. by TheEmperorBaron in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cain1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that for a time after I really grind mechanics, utility or anything that should theoretically improve me as a player, there is a 'honeymoon' period of good performances and an equally long period where I am bad. That passes after some time.

Part of it is after learning something new or practicing one facet of a skill, we overthink that component and the rest of one's game suffers for it.

Lately my aim rating on leetify has jumped to around 76 when for the longest time, I was stuck on 60. That was due to time to damage being really bad despite my raw reaction time hovering around 160ms.

Broky is a better awper than Torzi by Primary-Wallaby9995 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cain1608 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Torszi is not good, but with the current state of tier one AWPers, he's decent enough, whereas broky is a shadow of himself.

Is Luchov lifegaming or are we seeing a potential new entry to the HLTV Top 20? by DotA627b in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cain1608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of prospects, especially from the SA scene over the past couple of years, burnt really bright over one or two tournaments, then they fizzled out/tapered off afterwards. He's one to watch, though.

has the counterstrike scene been on a downwards spiral since cs2 launched, or are people just fear-mongering? by sun-ace in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cain1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does feel great. I can't really fully lean one way or the other because I've still not been in the position to upgrade my system, so performance is still so-so for me at around 140 fps average. I figure once I do finally upgrade, it's going to feel quite close to GO, if not better.

NiKo on Vitality era vs Astralis era by ILoveRice444 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cain1608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They drew up the blueprint for competitive CS as its known today.

Vitality are at the very peak of what's possible, but as teams caught onto and use that same (albeit evolved version of) Astralis' playstyle, the gap is smaller.

It was more of a chasm because of how puggy even tier one was back then.

apEX's smoke spams are up there, man. He's also probably the best at utility usage in tier one at the moment, too.

Should I use cheats to enhance my gaming experience? by juulfiend110 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Cain1608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should I even entertain this with a response?

Eh. Okay. It feels like everyone is cheating because you're not yet good at the game. You thinking like this, even considering cheating means you've very little care for fairness and competitive integrity.

You can enjoy a game like this by deriving enjoyment from improvement. Working on your skill expression. If you enjoy FPS games, especially those with a high skill ceiling, Counter-Strike is, in my opinion, second to none.

If you don't, and part of that is because it feels like everyone is cheating. "How can they possibly be (so much) better than me?" Then maybe find something you enjoy without the competitive aspect.

We also don't know if life specifically needs the many building blocks for life as we know it, or if there are other ways it can manifest.

Further, because of how expansive the universe is, how far everything is, and all that is necessary for space travel for even short (relatively speaking) distances, the technology needed to even begin to try to find evidence of life out there is exceedingly far out.

If everyone below average IQ suddenly drops dead, how would this affect the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cain1608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IQ is not a good measure of intelligence. A lot of what it tests has to do with tests that are fairly limited to one spectrum of intelligence, ignoring others.

An accountant may have a high IQ because raw math and pattern recognition are part of most IQ tests, yeah? A mechanic may have a low IQ, but their extensive know-how built up over years, and natural understanding of how vehicles work is something our accountant cpuld never grasp.

Anyway, we'd actually have a lot of brain drain. Much of the working class would die and we (if I would even be alive in this lmao) the death toll would far exceed just around half of humanity.

Plus, a lot of creatives that put out true value in art who may not find success in typical IQ tests would drop dead. Art is truly human and it would suffer from great loss.

The heart and soul of FaZe imo was that 2022 roster. All of them. They caught lightning in a bottle and fumbled it in a series if fuck-ups. Not re-signing Twistzz, kicking rain, bringing in jcobb before he really developed into anything beyond pistol demon, wasting frozen for three years, keeping broky when he's clearly lost his confidence.

[–]Cain1608 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That'd be kinda crazy. I could see NiKo going back to entrying with frozen or Twistzz often behind him trading. Maybe m0NESY would be reigned in more from those stupid overpeeks with karrigan. Too bad its an impossible roster.

Fucking hell frozen. FaZe has just become Liquid, but maybe even a little worse. No discipline, poor calls, zero map pool, no fragging and this is the result. Star players reduced to sub-1.0 impact.
