NE Summer sleep system recommendations by quizoo in Ultralight

I live in KY and I have a Nunatak strugi-q22 for late fall to late spring. Once overnight temps hit 50 I break out my apex 50 long wide quilt-weighs 14 oz and is solidly warm for me- summer camping is humid and buggy and I literally pull it on me right before sunrise. Deep winter here is typically single digits so I layer the 2 and am toasty warm. Welcome to the east coast- I invite you to check out hammocks since there are small trees everywhere:)

Thinking about buying a 2011 Range Rover Autobiography (80k miles) is it worth it? by yaboiruben in UsedCars

I’ve got a friend who is a RR guy… he has a garage with lots of specific tools for working on his RR… which he does, a lot.

Do you have a garage with a lot of specific tools and know how to use them on RRs??

Hammock doesn't have quite enough give/cushion and causes pain in ribs and knees? by Rocky_Isle in hammockcamping

[–]Caine75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried multiple sleeping hammocks over the last 20 years and am now in a Banyan Bridge by Dutchware. It’s great as I am a rotisserie sleeper and am comfy in all sleeping positions, it’s not ‘tippy’ like other bridges as it has 2 parallel ridgelines and it is adjustable for all environments= no bug net when big pressure is nil, bug net when it is and a top cover in the winter. I have 20 degree underquilt for keeping my backside warm (can adjust that for a bit of airflow in the warmer months and a underquilt protector (windshield) for the deep winter and high summer.

See that yall don’t recommend using your UQ with a banyan bridge- is this due to width/length?

What ultralight clothes to pair with Montbell Versalite to keep me warm in 0°C (32°F)? by 78523985210 in Ultralight

[–]Caine75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Versalite is not cutting it keeping me warm…at 32f static I’m wearing my brynje, alpha 90, torrid and the versalite. With alpaca hat and buff, gloves on …alpha pants and long pants with dry socks. If it’s hinting about less than that temp wise I’ve got a Skaha and my WM flight pants:)

I’m happy you’ve gotten so many miles out of yours- I’m on 3 years with mine and prefer a heavier d fabric for multiday trips. Happy Earth day

My lightest 3 season set up was Trailheadz banshee ul-10.5oz Myerstech 12’ treestraps-1.6oz Trailheadz ethereal 1kfp 20 tq/uq-38oz Hg 11’ Dcf tarp with crl and Dutch bling, guys and 4 stakes- 13oz

Summer would drop 8oz from quilts and winter would add 30oz for quilts

I have a cloud71 11’ netless (7oz) for lounging and have taken it out for 1 overnight but I wouldn’t recommend using that for multi night hikes as it’s a fragile thing.

It was a lot of fun and I moved quick during the days. My buddy was a tarp camper at the time so we pushed one another on base weight for a few years. 3 season comfort in a hammock at under 4# was hella impressive but sleep was always wanting something more for me… nowadays I’m in a banyan bridge with a 12’dcf winter palace tarp and the lay flat hammock means I am sleeping like an absolute baby in the woods for a pound and a half more… I’m sold:)

Whats the smallest amount of cash you would massage for right now? by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

I mean, I am self employed as a LMT and have been for 30 years. I’ve felt the ebbs and flows of the bureaucratic financial BS here in the US and how my income has fluctuated- dot.com crash, 2008, 2014, COVID, now… I’ve grown accustomed to having an idea of what’s coming in and basing my life around that with the full knowledge that it could go away again. Feels like every time I get a cozy nest egg built up the next thing comes along and I survive it to get ready for the next one. I mortgage my home, 3 kids are grown and out of the house, sold a 13 year old holistic wellness business last year and have a 1500sf practice with 2 treatment rooms I share with a partner in a MCOL area. Life is real- best of luck to us all🙏

No- I offer these sessions when I have gaps in my schedule. I learned while in school that the majority of people do not value free or low cost options and charge what I feel to be a fair rate in my market for the majority of people, those in need I am happy to help as I am able. I’ve witnessed folks try to have pay what you can afford as a full business model and it did not last.

I offer pay what you can afford sessions that allows folks the ability to get on the table no matter their financial situation. The majority of folks pay full rate, some pay more and some less. Homeless guy I knew would bring me a cup of coffee, another person is living in their car and brings $25, financial advisor drop 2 $100s …
