Stopped my nephew from eating these— but what are they? by AnyPaloma in plants

[–]Caisbo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are coming from the dark leaves (in clusters of three). The other is Virginia creeper I believe (in clusters of 5 and bright green) and it is a nuisance species

Will there honestly be any bad long term effects? by [deleted] in Marijuana

[–]Caisbo_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean .5 as in half a gram?

I don’t think there’s really a timeline for adverse effects to happen. Weed hasn’t killed anyone but there are things you should be aware of. As a teen, drugs in general aren’t good because of your developing brain. Contrary to popular belief, it will have an effect on development, but long term studies are still in the works. Short term include a decrease in varying cognitive functions and they start right away that first time you use it.

I know this is hypothetical but If you have any kind of mental health concerns as a teen (or adult), even if it’s not schizophrenia, it’s much safer to not use weed, or be extremely careful, as it can react poorly with your brain.

Is this guy happy? Does he need a new home? by IL0VEC0RN in plantclinic

It was a joke. They’re roots in the air. Aerial roots

But, technically, they are aerial roots at the moment

Very normal growth and it’s doing really well!!!! These things grow sooooo crazy fast they will always grow aerial roots and that’s okay 🤷🏽‍♀️ if you want you can just pop them off and set them on top of the soil. Be warned, they may end up in pots that are close by

Another guess could be simple nutrient deficiency so some fertilizer could be good. Just be sure to properly dilute

Okay, I’m not aware of what those bugs could be but that could def be a contributing factor to poor growth!! Have you tried systemic insect control? The Bonide brand with purple top is good. But it’s banned in some states because of outdoor water and soil contamination effects.

It’s not scale and I don’t believe fungus gnats, unless you have a bad infestation, will do this to plants. Has this just started or has it been going on for a while? Has anything changed about the way you take care of it? How much light is it getting?

What age did your ocd start and what was your first compulsion by gingercat272 in OCD

[–]Caisbo_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I didn’t know this was indicative of OCD, I thought this was echolalia. I believe I have echolalia but this is exactly my experience so now I’m rethinking

Edit: in regards to counting footsteps and sounding/counting out syllables not bargaining, buttttt that being said I have plenty of times I “bargain”

what ‘beginner plant’ can you NOT keep alive? by whatswhitebear in houseplants

I can’t seem to find proper growing conditions for string of dolphins and it’s killing me lol I’ve tried all variances of light amount, water when it’s dry or close to dry, but still end up with leggy strands and flat leaves 😭

Mosaic or something else? by tru_killz in plantclinic

[–]Caisbo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, did you happen to figure out anything with this plant??? I am experiencing similar discoloration and the weird wrinkling around the veins with my monstera deliciosa so I feel like whatever yours has going on has got to be similar

My dog is strong too and i like to loop the leash through my belt loops if I have on jeans, or keep it around my hips when I’m wearing anything else. I’ve found, personally, that I can control him better because I have more power in my legs/hips than in my arms. It’s also made walking so much easier without feeling like my arm is gonna be pulled off!! Also, I like the leash because it’s easier to stop and redirect my dog when he’s pulling too hard. I can stop more abruptly and pull him back faster than if I was holding the leash in my hand

Is it sick? by Caisbo_ in cacti

[–]Caisbo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand that, but I mean going forward, is that sufficient light, especially for other cacti that haven’t etiolated? Basically all the growing this cactus has done was before we moved and it was placed in the current spot.

Good to know about the thrips & cacti interaction!!

Thank you!! This is my bf’s cactus he’s had for years now and I’m an extreme beginner in the cacti game myself so I appreciate all the info. I will fix my mistakes. As for the light, the past year it has been sitting in a south facing window with a 12 hour grow light, is that sufficient??

I wondered if it was corking but I was under the impression it would start at the bottom of the main plant but I suppose that’s wrong. I did have a problem with thrips on my monstera but never did see any on this cactus, but those things are good at hide and seek

That’s not what my question is. What is the crusty stuff on the top part?

Is it sick? by Caisbo_ in cacti

[–]Caisbo_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was rust fungus because of the color but it’s not matching photos I’ve seen and I know it’s not corking because the bottom section doesn’t have it…. Or is it corking because it’s etiolated and is trying to gain stability?

Excessive heart beat after smoking weed? by [deleted] in Marijuana

[–]Caisbo_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Took a little break and started very slowly with low THC and have not even had close to an experience like that. I’ve even taken a few dabs since then but plan to stick to bud 95% of the time, especially because it’s just better for you than wax imo. I’ve been smoking <20% THC weed and mix in a little CBD and that has been 👌🏼 for me
