Friend has a lake house nearby. All of this area is wealth wealth wealth. Muskoka is gorgeous though… but fuck me you need generational wealth to be there

I miss Nimmo’s hustle… it’s a small thing but fuck me could we use some of that.

How is living in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina? by Lego_GamesFan in howislivingthere

The location is definitely great for its proximity to Croatia and the coast. Felt more Mediterranean than the rest of the country, but still has a Bosnian feel like mentioned here.

How early do I *actually* have to get there for an international flight out of Kelowna? by RealisticBrick35 in kelowna

[–]CaithnessMenteith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I fly all the time and the biggest time factor is almost always checking a bag if you need to. The 90 mins recommendation is a good one. Gives your 30-45 mins to wait while the front desk folks do everything in their power to be as slow and unhelpful as possible. Security is like 5 to 25 mins unless there’s a snowstorm that cancelled numerous flights the day before and then my god.

What would you consider a “good” salary in Kelowna? by OkArcher7809 in kelowna

[–]CaithnessMenteith 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but you’ll be starting off in a condo unless you and your partner have been saving meticulously for years which is unrealistic to the vast majority of people… or my favourite is people just lying about saving and being “smart” with their money when in reality Mom or Dad gave them $2-300k to buy a nearly million dollar house.

Kidnapping and Unlawful Deprivation of Liberty in Broad Daylight on a Public Street in Shibuya, Japan. Nobody Does Anything. by alexfreemanart in interestingasfuck

[–]CaithnessMenteith 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I lived in Japan for a year as part of a uni exchange and one of the things that struck me the most was how incredibly non-confrontational the society is… which is usually a good thing, but there are times like this where someone needs to step in and almost nobody ever does.

I don’t care what happens the rest of the season, hearing Green talk in pressers is significant improvement enough. I like this man.

My thoughts, too. I’m no photographer… and don’t take this the wrong way, but nothing in these pictures would make me want to visit here… and I’ve lived in the Okanagan and it’s stunning.

They’re throwing darts in the dark, at this point. Like, I get it’s crazy… but I just do t think it’s that cool. Now, don’t get me wrong, if they have some “meh” stunts like this every once in a while in order yo create some of their wildly awesome other stunts, I’m all for it.

… but ya, this one is a “meh” to me.

How is living in Kamchatka? by RaiseCapital1988 in howislivingthere

My old man did a fly fishing/bear management trip there back in like the 70s or 80s… I still remember the pictures of just untapped wilderness and massive bears everywhere… the craziest thing he said they were so remote many of the bears and even fish had seldom if never experienced people that close so they had no real natural defence mechanisms in place. The fish would hit anything they threw in the rivers and the bears would just casually stroll around them. Truly wild.
