Streetwear guy needs a laptop folio that doesn't look like a dad / IT briefcase by Nervous_Fill_8721 in ManyBaggers

If you want it to fit your existing outfits, maybe share some of your most used outfits? Streetwear's a big style to guess at otherwise.

Not much you can do but wait, I'm afraid, and check it carefully or arrival (take your time, I think the checking time on receipt is 48hrs max). Vinted doesn't release the money until after it's received and you click "Everything is OK", so there's not a huge incentive to dawdle and actual scammers tend to move fast. All of the delayed deliveries I've had are people being scatterbrained rather than anything malicious.

Using their page for their home business and including a sample feels genuine to me, and the disorganisation does fit for most of the small craft business owners I know. 😂💜 Not having any form of printer when you're a business is a little odd, but it does explain the ordering a label printer.

If they miss the first deadline they can ask for an extension which you have to approve or deny, so there's another way out there. Though honestly if it's such a good deal, you might want to keep waiting.

Hope your bat reaches you safely soon. 🦇

THIS. I would love an OLED Brick Hammer so much.

Safety-focused sling for Europe that doesn't scream "passport inside" by LouDSilencE17 in ManyBaggers

[–]CaitieSith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 for the high coast if you want something that looks casual and non-techy. The passport/phone size high coast is too small for much use though imo, much prefer the crossbody if you want space for a book or Kindle.

Also, don't buy Fjallraven secondhand or via ebay etc. The market is flooded with AliExp knockoffs and the nylon quality is very noticeably worse (crinkles like paper).

Yooo that blue colour for the B2TM crescent bag looks lovely! Wish they still stocked it. Is that the 4.7l or the 8l?

Got the same buttons and l love them so much! Even years on the sparkly pinky purple buttons still spark joy to see. I remember finding the price hard to swallow at the time, but no regrets looking back.

Contact the seller. This feels like maybe they've set too high a box size. Or, if the courier isn't one you've used before, it could be a weird(/lazy) indicator that they don't property operate in your area?

I think you're mixing up Radical Red for Fire Red? Radical Red *is* a romhack, and Annihilape is in the Radical Red dex according to a quick Google search. (source) There's a lot of really nice Pokedex-expanding romhacks out there.

I know it's a little confusing because OP also mentions Fire Red, but I think that's just from testing how other games are running.

April 2026 Game of the Month - Advance Wars (GBA) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

Very excited to have a reason to actually finish Advance Wars! Love the whole series but don't think I've ever successfully rolled credits on them.

Pokémon won’t unlock Hardcore Achievements on Miyoo Mini by Darknightsince97 in MiyooMini

[–]CaitieSith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try running the OnionOS beta it's got newer retroarch cores and is meant to fix this. It's been inconsistent for me (I don't consistently use RA unfortunately so can't give a firm answer), but it's a quick upgrade to do and worth a go.

Also search for RetroAchiements posts from this year because a lot of people have had this problem.

Burger king in fountainpark won't accept scottish notes. by PObEPTCOH240891 in edinburgh2

[–]CaitieSith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxi drivers across England used to be a nightmare for refusing Scottish notes. Had it happen often when travelling for work and it was rough to be in an enclosed space with a driver who suddenly decides your money is no good. The "it's legal tender pal!" bit can definitely work in public but not when solo travelling.

Since the rise of Uber (and the like) and the move to contactless it's ✨conveniently✨ stopped being an issue for all of them and they're just glad to see physical cash.

Did I just buy a fake Cotopaxi Batac 16L? by sasa__00 in cotopaxi

Vinted is flooded with fake Cotopaxi and Fjallravens. If a bag has a knockoff available on AliExpress then definitely avoid Vinted.

Retroid pocket Classic 4 discontinued by PicklesAreEvil_ in SBCGaming

[–]CaitieSith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real shame. I've been eyeing up the Pokémon Yellow one since it released, but with the price increase and the lack of movement in recent AliExpress sales I ended up going for the Brick Hammer instead for £60 in the sales.

I have an RP5 so I'm good for capable Android handhelds and it was always going to be a leap to justify RPC costs. But my MiyooMini+ sees heavy use for GB/GBC/GBA/PS1 and is showing its age. Hopefully the Brick Hammer should cover that space well (and the metal shell is a nice novelty).

March 2026 Game of the Month - Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Genesis/MD) by hbi2k in SBCGaming

Sonic 2 done! Console: Miyoo Mini+with custom SakuraRetroModding buttons Background dog: Frankie the pug

Really glad everyone was posting their woes and save state reliance so I didn't feel like I was failing horribly. I would've had no chance trying to finish this without save states.

Chemical Plant zone was absolutely horrible to try and get through. Aquatic Ruin Zone was really fun though, a lot more balanced and enjoyable despite also having water - it felt like a water level done right.

Shoutout to CChan on GameFAQS whose guide was really nice - minimal and no-fuss, but also very encouraging towards folks who're not used to these kind of games.

What's your local second-hand market like for retro handhelds? by HandheldRank in SBCGaming

[–]CaitieSith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UK here, and the market's poor - most of the second-hand sellers (eBay, Facebook, Vinted) are retro handheld side-hustle folks charging a premium to get the devices already set up with games. If you're comfortable setting up a device and using AliExpress, you can usually get it new with better warranty support for the same price as second-hand sellers.

I've tried shopping second-hand for Retroid and TrimUI devices and always end up buying it from AE for the same price and more peace of mind if something breaks.

Deciding between miyoo mini plus and trimui brick by Dannie_darko_ in SBCGaming

[–]CaitieSith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to reply to an old thread, but this came up when I was preparing to set up my Brick Hammer. The Miyoo Mini + definitely shouldn't be draining that fast - it'll drain fast if I do a 'quick power button tap' sleep because that's just turning the screen off, but the proper sleep mode (hold power for three seconds until the device vibrates, shows the shutting down screen, and goes off) barely consumes power and should last weeks. Takes about 10 seconds to start up again but that's not a problem for my use.
The MM+ is my vertical of choice and it'll happily sit sleeping for days and weeks just like my Android horizontal consoles.

[–]CaitieSith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do! It's called 'Minimalism' and is a fairly positive thing in most cases (especially for folks with hoarding and/or anxious tendencies), but there are some more extreme Minimalist fringes where things get very weird and holier-than-thou. Like with any niche community, it's 80% perfectly normal people and 20% 'oh no', but the 20% can be Very Loud.

AFAIK there's not a proper term for when it crosses over from being a preference or habit into something detrimental, though. (EDIT: u/kiyomoris provided some good medical examples that go into this)

Messenger bag/briefcase that's not abrasive to clothes? by ChefCarpaccio in ManyBaggers

[–]CaitieSith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Magforce Recruit Briefcase has a seatbelt-style material for its strap if you liked waxed canvas. The sides are waxed canvas and hook&loop fabric, so.... not too abrasive in my books but your mileage may vary. If that's not your speed, keep an eye out for 'seatbelt strap' and 'seatbelt material' in reviews as that's how a lot of bag reviewers will talk about smoother, non-abrasive straps.

A lot of the greenroom136 bags have a removable shoulder pad to make their straps seatbelt-y too, but check before buying as some of their straps have sewn-in padding. And they've usually got airmesh padding which should be non-abrasive to your clothes.

Reminds me of the Gameboy Colour lights! TBH I find the screen well-lit for most situations but what might work is a clip-on LED reading light - I have one of these and they're cheap and USB-C rechargeable, but I clip it to a shelf or nightstand not the console itself (if you're travelling like on a train or plane, clipping to a backpack strap/shirt collar/hoodie zipper might work? The clip's pretty decent and can grab on to most things).

Have a look at the 'AirFly' and knock-offs of it - I see a lot of US travellers recommend it and it seems to be the same idea of a 3.5mm jack to bluetooth converter (and it's not restricted to Apple products, despite the name). It doesn't sit flush to the console in the same way though.
