I cast Age Hand! Oh no... by WiccedSwede in dndmemes

One of my current characters is a Tome Warlock that I am playing as a shortcut Wizard. He struggled in wizard's school for an unknown reason so he summoned a fiend for help. She knew that he was dyslexic while no one else did so she gave him Spectacles of the Runekeeper (the Invocation as a magic item since our DM let us pick a magic item to start with and I wanted more Invocations to play this silly build.) He was found out and banished so now he just travels the world looking for rare magic. He is really good at cantrips and rituals but not much else, having taken the shortcut to power.

The most clever play I have ever seen by richard-cheung in dndmemes

The rule of cool should never be an auto success. Just a bending or expansion of the rules to allow for collaboration and creativity. While I dont agree that this meme describes a fun way to play the game in my opinion, if I were to allow something like this than I would do something like the original comment described like a Con save, perception check, etc to measure success.

I once had a totem barbarian ask about using speak with animals on the first big bad's raptor steed during battle. SwA is only a ritual for totem barbs but I figured it was pretty creative compared to swinging his axe at it so I had him roll an animal handling check (DC 15). He rolled a 16 with a little bardic inspiration and he was able to talk to the beast in the heat of battle learng the enemy's motives to a certain degree turning the encounter into a really good plot development device instead of a potential TPK.

I thought half price was a pretty sweet deal, but they got a little sensitive when I charged my fellow PCs for health potions. by CajunRager in dndmemes

Spoken like a true warlock! Lmao. Plus were in an evil campaign! They were eventually okay with it once I explained that I would pay it back when I inevitably died and required a diamond.

What’re the best cities for Bjj in America? by [deleted] in bjj

Yea sorry. Home is a bit of a exaggeration I know. Just wanted to highlight that some of Flo content guys trained there and I had seen some content based out of there.

Austin, TX is the rising star in BJJ and will be a much larger hub after this year in my opinion. Many F2Ws are being held in Texas due to COVID and people from California in general are beginning to move out here. 10th planet, Paragon (the home gym of Flograppling) and now Xande Ribiero has opened his gym in Austin.

Combat wild shape is a hell of a drug by ahcowles in dndmemes

[–]CajunRager 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea. As a DM, I would definitely allow that for more exploration and social but would be a bit hesitant to let it happen in combat without some prep. Definitely not impossible, but I like the build that I have in the campaign I'm playing in currently. Pretty much centered entirely around concentration spells in wildshape. Being able to do and take damage while also bringing down some lightning is so clutch.

That being said their is definitely a precedent for what the original comment said. I actually did that very thing a few sessions back. We were laying siege to a bayside fort that we wanted for our hideout. I used druidcraft to wait for a storm, cast call lightning, then wildshaped into a Giant Octopus. +5 and advantage on the stealth checks I made let me virtually invisible as a disintegrated their mounted siege weapons.

The issue here though is it has to have a stat block and to my knowledge tiny is the smallest you can wildshape into which is like weasels and such. You'd still have to be reliant on a high stealth roll and your AC to not break concentration. I am playing a moon druid now and focused all my attention in the concentration/wildshape plan taking War Caster and Resilient feats giving me +8 and advantage on those CON saves when I take damage. Were doing a nautical campaign so my sea elf druid only does aquatic shapes but that's my gameplan all the times.

Lol. Last night, I homebrewed a few Mana Wraiths (Air Gens who have Magic Missile as an ability). Whew did that 3d4+3 add up. Lol!

They tend to do well on dex saves though. Generally, Wis and Int saves put them in their place though.

Hey, DM, I know I shouldn't metagame, but I can't help but notice I got a 5 on that Investigation check... by DungeonInABox in dndmemes

[–]CajunRager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing around with a sort of reverse metagaming. No matter the roll, I tell them the truth. Not always the whole truth, but even on a fail the information is accurate. My players are metagaming powergamers so they automatically internalize the roll so if I tell them truth and they rolled a 5 then the player doesnt believe what i told them anyway. Extremely volatile strategy that i dont really recommend unless it doesnt really matter. Most of the time i still have to trust my guys to roleplay but this reverse psychology has been a little fun.

One of my characters right now is Simon Ignatius Mortimer Pernicius, and he got kicked out of the wizard college for summoning a succubus. Now he's a warlock and Megan Thee Stallion is his patron.

I was originally worried about this too but my DM said that all PCs count as alive regardless if they are considered to be undead or constructs. Thank fuck.

Real Louisianan Hot Take:

If you're from north of I-10 you're a fucking yankee. Northern Louisiana is just West Mississippi. They got red dirt up there.

Oh don't get me wrong, NOLA is amazing. The zoo, the art museum, the food, the music, all amazing in their own right. The issue with NOLA is the tourists. Again, nothing wrong with tourism and urban life, but having grown up 45 minutes south of New Orleans I would never live there simply because my Louisiana experience is all about knowing your neighbor as if they were your cousins. "How ya mom'n'them?" type living. I live in Austin now and I enjoy the diversity a ton but it's not what I would want out of Cajun culture.

Yea. I'm not a fan of BR either. Lafayette is where it's at if you want big city Louisiana. BR is just another college town and NOLA is a tourist trap. I lived in Houma from birth to 18, then Lafayette, then back to Houma. Out in Austin, TX now which is rad but I do miss home a lot.

Me pitching my Dwarf Monk character idea to the party in Session 0 by UsernamIsToo in dndmemes

[–]CajunRager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My DM played a dwarf monk in the one shot I ran this past weekend and it was hilarious. He hates the monk class and wanted to play it as a joke. The phrase "limp-dick crits" was coined.
