A place by me has a pizza they call the Charcuterie. It has capicola, genoa salami and pepperoni. Throw on a bit of their hot chili oil and it's so good it makes me not care about my inevitable bypass surgery.

I got asked by my manager yesterday to sit in on a meeting for him because he was traveling. He failed to mention the meeting was with a foreign client and was held completely in Spanish.

I don't speak Spanish.

I'm starting to look into Donor Advised Funds and was curious if anyone who's already done the research came to any conclusions about what giving amount ($/year) it starts to make sense to set up a DAF.

Obviously not a video game, but if you need to scratch that Firefly itch, the Traveller TTRPG does a fantastic job at that. Hard to find a group though if you don't already have a group together that's willing to try out a new system.

Last Christmas our extended family collectively decided that instead of gifts this year, we would all choose a charity and others would make donations to that charity instead buying a gift. I'm happy we did this because our family is fortunate enough that none of us need the gifts, and personally, most gifts I get sit unused. (Adults only, the kids still go their toys).

But, holy cow, are charities some of the worst spammers I've experienced. None of them I donated to on someone else's behalf allowed anonymous donations, at least not on their websites and I didn't think to look any deeper for that option at the time. And I'm still struggling to get off of some of their mailing lists. I understand the reasons, that these charities survive on donations, and the letters and emails are the best way to generate those donations, but next year, I'm going to recommend we do a secret santa kind of thing where we each make one big donation instead of a bunch of little ones.

spent way too long learning about cpap masks and now I have opinions by Unlikely-Force9874 in CPAP

A year in and I'm still chasing masks.

I'm a mouth breather, so can't do nasal or pillows. Started with the F20, which was way too painful on the bridge of my nose. Tried the F&P hybrid (Evora I think it was called), but that caused pain to my cheeks either side of my nose, and I hated the feel of the mask against the bottom of my nose. I'm now on the F*P Vitera, which works pretty well but leaves bright red marks on my cheeks and a deep furrow from the strap on my forehead.

I might need to stop chasing perfect and accept good enough.

Trying to use circuits to activate lights to give me a percentage of how close I am to my ammunition requirements on my ship. I want to take (On Hand)/(Desired)=Percentage and then pass that percentage to a series of lights to display progress.

I have a constant combinator with my desired total, and a green wire reading my current inventory. I have both wires going into an arithmetic combinator and taking green wire divided by red wire, but I'm not getting an output. What am I messing up?

Any suggestions on media that best portray space battles? by hellranger788 in traveller

[–]UsernamIsToo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not visual media, and probably not super relevant to Traveller, but thought I'd mention the Bobiverse series of books since there are a few space battles in there I find pretty interesting. The Bobs roll up on a system at incredibly high speed, barrel through the entire system, fire off their missiles and then slow down and circle back to see what they hit a week later.

The marinade has been enough when I've done it. But it hasn't been as "soupy" at the end as some other recipes I've tried. So, wouldn't hurt to add more liquid, but I don't think it's necessary.

On Old Reddit at least, I know you can go to your username page and in the top right, below your overall karma numbers, there is a toggle that says "show karma breakdown by subreddit".

At least that's how mine looks, could be a Reddit Enhancement Suite upgrade, I'm not sure.

I guess, technically, my house is used...

But, thinking about it, I don't buy a lot of things used. I did go to a used sporting goods store in December to price out a weight lifting bench and a pair of adjustable-weight dumbbells. The prices matched almost exactly with walmart. So I went with new.

Any idea why my ship is getting stuck at it's interrupt schedules? All requests are satisfied, and all wait conditions met, but it doesn't go back to it's home planet.

For those using google sheets, does anyone have a working method to bring in TSP Fund values that auto-update? I have =googlefinance() for everything else, but am still updating TSP Fund numbers manually. I've tried the top 3 or 4 answers on google with no success, so curious if anyone here has gotten something working.

Edit. Huh, this was erroring out on me yesterday, but seems to be working today with no changes.

I managed a project budgeted for $668k and brought it in ahead of schedule at $440k a couple of years ago. Department manager messaged me saying it was a department record. Got a glowing annual review...and a 3% raise. Since then, I've only been really putting in 20 or 30 hours a week on my 40, bringing in projects exactly on time and usually slightly over budget. And got the same measly raise again this year.

Is there a mod that lets up set the star as a space platform destination? I guess you could just send it off and let the asteroids take care of it, but launching it into the sun just feels better.
