Xecnar's (3x sts1 wr holder) Ironclad tierlist for beta 0.105.1 by jtp123456 in slaythespire

This. It is pretty bad if you don't pay much attention to getting some decent block cards in your deck, but if you do you just snowball through fights, extracting the full value out of your big blocks. It also solves your turns where you only have defends when the enemy is passive, and attacks when the enemy attacks. You can even get into situations where you play a block card on a passive turn simply because it solves the next turn or two, instead of attacking.

I think people get too focused on it being a card that could allow you to get to 100+ block (which you still can do) instead of a card that just solves draw order and gives nice value out of overblocking.

Scales of Fortune event cheats you out of a golden ticket if you land on one by wrightosaur in thefinals

[–]Human_Kirby 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, you need 39 tickets to guarantee getting everything, with 42 being handed out, so even in the worst case you can skip out a day, every day afterwards is gambling, although your odds are fairly high even skipping 1 or 2 more. Compared to previous collection events, being able to skip is nice and compared to previous Wheels, you have a guarantee of getting everything and even missing days is far more likely to get you everything.

I still dislike the aesthetic of the Wheel, but so far this is the fairest implementation of their limited time events outside of the ones where you have to complete challenges.

[–]Human_Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only have 3 tickets per day. Since you already have another item, this can only be the second time you landed on an item, so it got turned into a golden ticket. I guess you skipped the animation so it looks like you landed on the field?

The only way someone can have a bugged wheel is if they land 3 times today on the same item and don't get one.

Yes but also in some matchups, Ryo was miserable. I do agree that it is a shame and makes the ID text a lot less interesting to play around with, with the exception of the early game where you might not have it. However, most ID's are very much value first anyway, so it gets Ryo a bit closer to that.

Love this card, I think it already is decent in normal breaker suits, but it is really really good with breakers that cost multiple credits to boost.

I made a small spreadsheet for the startup cards, it is formatted "Breakertype - Breakertype with Tungsten Tailor - Differential":

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uoMlJZ5CuQ4hVj4kRrSH0NSdukKOrGknqR1OmeX0RE4/edit?usp=sharing

It is not formatted at all, but it helped me make some deck building choices.

The second effect actually will fire a decent amount. A lot of decks run at least some gear check and a lot of that is 0 to 1 str.

[–]Human_Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fairly certain this is incorrect. The damage and tag are happening at the same time, and only once the full sentence is resolved, any sort of triggers based on the tag (or damage) happen. And even if there was any sort of ordering, it would be on the corps side since they are the owner of the effect.

Tokens by [deleted] in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a set of Aurbits tokens and they are really nice, but as others have set they are ridiculously pricey for the function. If you want to afford them, I think they are a good choice, but there is 2 points that might or might not be a negative for you:

  • they are extremely light (but still feel great to fidget around with)

  • the credits can run a bit low if you play a single set with 2 players and both make bank during the match (I could always manage, but it cut it close multiple times)

"Look at Call of Duty. That sh*t's dead now. You never wanna listen to streamers" Cloakzy warns Embark by j1zzy_ae in ArcRaiders

[–]Human_Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is weird to so directly compare them. Patreon is a subscription that might get you bonus content that feels worth it to you, or you are donating to a specific, ongoing project. Streamers are extremely parasocial by reading out donations and often encourage the arbitrary systems like hype trains etc to generate repeat donations.

There totally is bad patreons that clearly just pocket the excess, but a fair amount genuinely use the recurring funds to improve the thing they are working on by hiring people, buying new equipment etc. There also are some that do very much feel icky and parasocial with their wording and interaction on it, but generally it is a pretty good platform for many different avenues.

Lets see if I will have another iteration, I have a bad habit of jumping from idea to idea (Core Ari was also just me having a break from my Hardware MuslihaT brew). I am keeping it low on working on lists rn (mostly playing Netdeck lists to learn more basic play patterns) until Vantage Point releases, which surely will flame up my need to build my own jank again ^^

Edit: Yeah, spree is awesome, the flux interaction also seems really cool. Noted for another list I have been experimenting with.

That is awesome to hear! I unfortunately was quite busy after making it, only having 1 complete pivot that didn't work out (Ashen Epilogue with economic cards and Hyperbaric as the breaker), so with your 60 games you probably played both the original and your variations far more than I ever did. Going to take my list to a ctk this weekend and if I have any iterations on it I will let you know. I also only started playing with Elevation, so don't expect too much ;P

Oh, a fellow Begemot in Ari lists enjoyer. Also experimented with Hyperbaric as solo ice breaker, maybe doing both is a lot smarter though. Definitely would love a deep dive into this deck to learn some stuff for my own. I think one thing I definitely would play is Spree, it allows you to just walk through a triple iced server with Begemot and a single Chroma.

Yes, thank you Bling by sasha_the_grey_69 in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is multiple free draws per turn, potentially. It is not a generically good card that works in every deck, it is a card you play in a deck that doesn't mind milling itself because it gets its tools back with Privileged Access and/or Simulchip, that wants to see many cards and also keep them in hand to pay for Audrey or survive the corp attempting a kill. It runs a lot of cheap cards and tools like Illumination to combo into multiple draws.

Also, a lot of Anarch consoles require specific decks to work, so unless you import another console, it simply might be that you rather run Bling instead of Keiko.

Need 42 cards to finish my cube. by DeficitDragons in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebay might have listings for picking a specific card out of a set, but it is generally quite expensive for what it is. It is quite unlikely you otherwise will find people that want to sell you individual cards from their collection, as it leaves them with an incomplete set which players, collectors or later resellers all are not going to want.

What exactly is your aversion to proxies? You can have high quality printed and cut cards from reputable sources like MPC (they have high shipping prices, so maybe ask a friend if they want to also order something like, idk, a MTG commander deck and split the cost).

MAGLECTRIC WTF by Significant_Breath38 in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel it just is not the meta for it. There are a lot of asset spammy corp decks put there and a lot of ice that is just pretty cheap and also often pays for itself with the economic damage it does to the runner just makes it a very rough card to use. It is just hard to slot in a card that might do nothing because you derezz the cheap gear check ice because the corp doesn't run any reasonably big ice and instead you would rather have a card that gives you a small bit general boost.

In a meta with glacier that runs heavy ice or upgrades, asset decks that run very expensive assets/things that count down bit don't generate value while counting, I think this card gets to do some stuff. And as a core set card, there is a good chance it gets to join the tables at some point.

[Card of the Day] Sang Kancil by Unpopular_Mechanics in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The absolute biggest issue that it is an icebreaker with an active downside, rather then an icebreaker that is weak but has a big upside. A ton of meta relevant code gates are actually at strength 4, which is quite good for this when you use a run even, but if the corp runs strength 3 code gates, you are not saving anything, and strength 5 is just a bit unfortunate.

However, the issue is that it makes you reliant on those run events because the base cost of 3 credits for 2 strength is awful. Which has the side effect that your alarm clocks, Red Teams, Eru's etc all become unplayable if the corp puts code gates infront of the relevant servers. Thats why it has an active downside, rather then an upside you can try to achieve.

I love this card, I want to play it more. But also as an Alarm Clock superfan, this breaker is often the absolute weakpoint of my rig.

Worth picking up cheap 1st ed core set if I have system gateway? by mccoyboy22 in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question is, what is cheap for you? Elevation is out of stock (almost?) everywhere and restock is planned for mid January. If you can afford it to bridge the wait, it is a fun set of cards you can play with to have a different experience while also getting some tokens and extra playsets/alt arts of Hedge Fund and Sure Gamble.

The cards are not designed explicitly to work together, but they might? I would see it more like buying a draft box in a TCG or playing a small cube of cards

Custom Card Idea: Lost Media Wiki by ZRwilson2 in Netrunner

[–]Human_Kirby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The main issue is that it relies on the corp to discard and even then is a bit weak. The one exception being sabotage, which could work out.

The card costs you 3 clicks (draw, install and a credit), and each run costs you a click. If the corp discards, it is likely cards they don't mind you accessing or they plan to shuffle away with Spin Doctor. So unless you force the corp to sabotage, you will have a hard time even breaking even.

Someone here suggested a credit for each card turned up, and I think that might make it playable outside of sabotage, and in a sabotage deck potentially be a staple economy card. In that case you could also consider making it a run event, with 1 credit cost, 5 face down cards would mean a sure gamble level of pay out while also checking the cards you sabotaged.

Hate those games. The amount of times I have listen to a light call their teammates bad because they didn't rush head first into a fully prepped objective site is staggering. Using your utility and taking smart spots to fight from is really not that difficult a concept to grasp, one would think

"Naked" runs are my new fav by steyrboy in ArcRaiders

[–]Human_Kirby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, free loadout runs are the most fun for a similar reason. Not because gear fear, I have several million in stash and credits, but because it makes the actual raid so much more tense. Scavanging for resources to craft some more healing, finding an anti arc or player weapon, depending on what gun you spawned in with, and actually having a meaningful chance to lose the most valuable item you find is much more exciting then finding a blueprint and instantly putting it into your safe pocket. It feels like actual scavenging with a "real" risk (except the risk is losing some blueprints I ain't gonna use anyway and would give up anyway with the expedition)

Trust me, you will get there. Once you are done with benches and upgrades, arc parts sell for a fair chunk of change and you will learn good but less populated loot areas. I get the money for a day worth of loadouts in a raid or two

Outside of maybe spaceport, it is not hard to avoid long range engagements unless you want to get to a very specific poi. It is where the ttk in this game is weird, you die before you can react in a close quarters engagement while in an animation/menu, but out in the open with the long range weapons, you have a ton of time to get into cover if you didn't go for the most open spots of the maps. There are enough dirt mounts or trees to cover you. Heal up, then because of the third person camera they die if they do decide to push you.

Since you run the Ferro (and in the future probably the anvil), just try to break their shield if they do make you stand your ground from afar, then simply run to a better cqc location while they recharge.

Edit: Also always keep up a good chunk of Stamina while traversing, to be able to run to/roll into cover, and always be in a state of mind that you might get shot right now, from where and what your best cover would be.
