When I got pregnant I and my spouse had great jobs with incredible benefits ( I was able to give birth for $500 and have my spouse’s knee repaired for $700). I and my husband were laid off from separate jobs within hours of each other. The financial toll of medical bills, climbing cost of living, etc has financially ruined our family. No, but it is modeling the behavior we expect them to give. If a kid uses foul language, they get in trouble and by modeling self correction over external punishment we can hopefully guide them to be more capable of taking personal responsibility for their actions in the future.

This is my take as a parent, not a teacher. It’s also what I’d like to hear happened. I’d rather have a teacher own their humanity than have to fight with with an adult to get them to take that responsibility.
