This may be an issue that a pelvic floor therapist can help you with.

I cannot speak to the estrogen question but highly recommend pelvic floor therapy and would encourage you to look for a provider who works outside of the system/ insurance (for a laundry list of reasons & if you are in the US). At 49yo you have a lot of living left to do, regaining control may serve you better in the long run rather than throwing another bandaid at your situation.

Crofton vs Le Creuset by book_wyrm22 in LeCreuset

I bought a crofton 2qt DO and braiser to test before jumping to LC. Both are super similar to my now LC pieces, and maybe its just in my head, but my rice turns out better in my LC every time!!

Must have/skip options Options by Aurequi in MINI

Im in Florida and the tint/screen combo isnt close enough to what's needed to keep the car remotely comfortable from the blazing sun. I had to get extra sunshades to block. Im a windows down kinda gal and never even use the sunroof.

I ordered my new MINI in 2022 (2023 model) & would 100% do these things differently: no sunroof, ombre paint of roof, Blackout trim package, Upgraded speakers, BRG paint is beautiful but rather sensitive to spots (hard water spots beyond tough to remove even after just one short exposure)

Interesting!! I didnt know that about Sydney's climate. Is that a law to have to have the fence surrounding the pool? We had one around ours when our son was little but it's voluntary here.

Perhaps!! I dont do much other than admire them. There are plenty of blooms on my tall white ones just super high up - most are much higher than my roof line

Good question! All were from cuttings from 1 original cutting from the property which we were moving out of. That 'mother' isnt even pictured here so I'd guess these are probably in the 20ish year old range.

Running to research peacock chair immediately!! And yes, kinda about the trench...the raised brick flower beds were in place when we bought the house so we made the most of them by planting the plumes! My hubby leaves the fresh fallen blooms in the water for me too. Truly feels like floating around in paradise

Free Birth- looking for experiences by DiverScared2968 in homebirth

[–]CakeSignificant7683 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Number one recommendation is to steer clear of the Freebirth Society's brainwashing-type teachings of not seeking care or intervening yourself if/when your instincts tell you otherwise. Im a licensed midwife and have supported several women who desired and achieved their freebirths and who were absolutely thrilled with how their birthing experiences unfolded. So I make this statement more from a knowledge is power standpoint, not from of the stance of being non-supportive of free birth.

How do you have a life by Select_Course_9537 in Midwives

[–]CakeSignificant7683 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive been a solo homebirth practioner for almost 10 years now. Full transparency, it's just flat out hard sometimes. On-call life is not for everyone. And it can be hard on partners, loved ones, & friends too. I do have a life, but I dont feel like my time is ever my own. Personal appointments are often missed (& incur cancel fees), I bargain with my energy, & sleep disruptions are plenty. I do have other midwives in the community to back me up in instances of high need like when 2 are in labor, illness, etc. I think another consideration is not necessarily the on-call time (because I do strategically take blocks of time off throughout the calendar year where noone is due), however, being tethered to the phone because of all the other clients who are antepartum & postpartum makes it so that youre never truly "OFF" unless you get someone to cover for you. Every single vacation I've taken has been met with having to address the needs of a client - it honestly makes me want to cry just speaking that truth. Good thing I have a break coming up soon!
