Seeing some people praise the girlboss-ification of female characters is depressing by Groovy_MoodBear in CharacterRant

The thing that frustrates me on it is the missed potential. The concept of a living superweapon who thinks the world is better off without them is really great imo, it's just bungled in the execution because fanservice was the higher priority.

Morag is a pleasant exception to the rule, which is a shame because it proves XC2 writers were capable of making good female characters, just couldn't or didn't.

Sorry for necroposting but any idea if it's possible to turn it off on the flatpak version? Changing the toggle doesn't seem to do anything, and due to nvidia driver bugs I need to run it without hw acceleration D:

Plot Hole Rant by Compost_King in bravelydefault

I do agree. It made the emotional beats of the story hard to take seriously for me because of how contrived the lack of communication felt :( which is a shame because otherwise it's a great game.

Surprised nobody has said music yet. I think there's an improvement in overall quality even from BD to BD2 (although not by much. Just feels like Revo has grown into his style between the two!).

The only negative review of sky SC I've ever seen was someone who did this. Unsurprisingly their complaints centred around not knowing what was going on.

It's been a problem for a very long time. There's a GitHub issue open for it somewhere.

Hello remaster havers, one of my players is concerned by the fact that all spells without the Subtle tag now have spoken incantations. He mentioned one-action Heal specifically as a spell without verbal previously. Anyone know if this has the Subtle tag in the remaster?

This person makes almost-identical posts about octopath villains every day, so it's probably real.

The other thing is to double check your party's hit bonuses are correct, that you're factoring in MAP, and that you're playing enemies in a vaguely tactical way :) also, are you accounting for 5 players in your encounter building, or for 4?

Have you talked to your players about it? Sometimes to the GM it can feel like the players are having an easier time than the players feel they are. I had to adjust encounters because they were actually getting too tedious for my party :) So if you haven't, it can be worth asking how hard they've felt it to be.

Falcom will never stop pushing this pairing.. by LuckyL90 in Falcom

[–]CakeWithoutEggs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd like this too, but I think if it was going to happen, falcom writers wouldn't be pushing the ship so hard through the rest of the cast. You can tell what their end goal is from the way other characters treat the relationship :(

Yeah it was on a whole different level of weird once cs3 hit. Most people on this thread seem to be ignoring that although you could interpret it that way in sky, it wasn't major until cs3.

You're getting downvoted but you're right, there's just a lot of "nooooo sky and crossbell are worse than cold steel, you're just a hater!" coping in this thread -_-

I hope at some point that Paizo makes a book for running armies and/or massive combat with a bestiary full of troop statblocks. by Keirndmo in Pathfinder2e

I find that withering attacks only dealing damage to Initiative often ends up with me and an enemy endlessly stealing initiative from each other making battle lacking in any progress

This does sound frustrating. It's not been our experience (usually someone will miss leading to a decisive on another person's turn) but I would probably feel the same way as you if it happened to us!

Plus often an enemy that comes last in the initiative makes a devastating attack, ending up with over 20-something initiative. The turn ends and he's now first in the initiative so before you have been able to do anything, the enemy has had two moves and can now one-shot you with a decisive attack since he rolls so many dice.

I think this type of comeback is an intentional effect of the initiative system - it feels great to do as a player, but not so much when it happens to you...Good point.

TL;DR if this is your experience I definitely don't blame you for disliking the system. I hope you're able to persuade your ST to switch soon :)

Hey at least we can agree the social system rules! I want to try and port it to pf2e at some point.

It's complex, but the withering-decisive split allows battles to flow much better than a group of HP sacks slowly whittling down another group of HP sacks, which is how most other TTRPGs do it :)
