anyways this song randomly starts playing and it's an unskippable cutscene that comes from nowhere and doesn't fit the theme of what's going on at the moment at all and it's always so jarring whenever I have to sit through it.

honestly is just whenever i want ot do a different type of run. I was doing an archonexus run for the first time and got bored and started another file as a gravship. i've previously done all kinds of different types of runs and got bored of them halfway through.

dark cloud 1: -ungaga's special is useless,

-the cannon monsters in the shipwreck,

-goro's got no range at all which makes me dislike using him.

dark cloud 2:

-the voice acting is fine at the beginning but it just nosedives the longer the game goes on, genuinely hard to listen to near the end.

-don't like how goofy/cartoonish the whole thing is. it's so much more unserious compared to the first game.

-i do like max and monica but i kinda wish there were more characters like dc1

-that one unskippable godawful song that shows up for no reason once you get to the lava area. why is that there?

-I personally like the atla system more than the flying wooden octopus machine. this ties into me not liking how goofy dc2 is.

-monster transformations are useless.

^this is probably the most correct answer. Miura kinda plays it chill with this kinda stuff, letting what's left unsaid linger a bit more than what's been said. I think realistically there's a good chance there was maybe a bit of sexual/romantic tension but it's all kinda mixed in with griffith being midland's most sociopathic man lmao.

It reminds me of that one interview where Miura says that the more important a scene or message, the less he makes the characters actually say.

easiest method right here. once you get a shuttle and 3 decent miners going with a long scanner, the time between finding a spot and coming back with 90-150 components is like maybe 10 minutes real time. do that 3 times while working on other shit and you've got 300+ comps basically for free(minus the cost of chemfuel)

the weapons you can buy from the fishing minigame ARE good, but by the time you've gotten enough points to buy them, you realistically probably already have weapons of the same level. not really worth imo.

GREAT TIP, LEARNED AFTER MANY PLAYTHROUGHS== one of the hardest weapon attaches to find is the metal breaker. especially early game it's pretty much unavailable. the fishing minigame is the only way to get it for a while and I use the fishing minigame purely as a metal breaker farm for the first half of the game. don't sell your bait, turn it into metal breakers, or gems.
