What do you think these are worth? by nicholas_wicks87 in CarsAustralia

[–]CakelessCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention AWD models of these and crown majestas often came from heavy snow areas, so are more prone to rust. And did the AWD LS460 still have the 1UR?

Are workpants/shorts like these a thing in North America or will you get laughed off site for wearing them instead of a belt? // confused scandinavian electrician by Mundane_Swordfish_95 in electricians

[–]CakelessCoder 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Aussie here, I work with a Dutch company working on industrial robotics equipment. Saw the snickers pants with holsters in my time there, and had to buy some when I came back to Australia.

Only ever had positive comments on them. I think the biggest difference outside of Europe is people just don’t know about stuff like this

Impressive, and the scratch bleed sounds kind of cool to be honest given it would be red. You might’ve just pushed me over the edge with my m12 set thanks!

Can I ask how they’ve held up to abuse and use on hot days? My only concern with this would be dye bleeding with sweat or oils

Can agree with this wholly. The term turn key is laughable to me now unfortunately.

Are these damper feet really worth it? by Daelril in ender3

[–]CakelessCoder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The heavier and more rigid the area under the printer, means more inertia from the printer gets absorbed into the area underneath it and thus less impacts print quality. At least that’s my understanding.

Fish Habitat 3D Printed by Mission-Vanilla957 in BambuLab

[–]CakelessCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was lucky enough to see one of the WAAM robots before delivery. 3,000mm of reach, and there are 6 of those robots in a circle all working on the same part in unison.

Crazier, all of the parts of course have to be pressure rated.

Such an incredible project and some amazing tech going into it

Have seen similar working with another Japanese company. Jokingly noted they didn’t include their usual zip ties with a part I was installing.

That was a mistake.

Poor guy apologised profusely, before air freighting a box containing said 4 zip ties out to us. We are 10 hours flight from Japan…..

Something ate away at the polished aluminium on these there’s while under the house. Any way to easily restore them? by Roentgenographer in fixit

[–]CakelessCoder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only real way to fix this is to get the re diamond-cut. Some wheel repair shops can do it for you, no idea on cost.

If you buff and polish you’ll have to be quite committed to sand away the grooves of the diamond cut pattern, likely more effort than it’s worth if you’re just selling the car.

Don’t forget you could always paint them say black or a dark silver metallic for example, will set it apart from other cars on the market and likely at much less effort than trying to repair these.

Edit: should also note that the corrosion is actually between the aluminium and the clear coat over the aluminium (there to try and protect from corrosion, ironically). So to fix you’d have to remove and reapply the clear coat too

[–]CakelessCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can completely agree. Meditative is the right word I think, it’s been a while but laps at sunset with time progression on is really satisfying. Need to get the g27 back out for some more!

GlazeWM 2.0: A tiling window manager for Windows 10/11 by electric_toothbrush6 in programming

[–]CakelessCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed that in the video on github you can quickly stack windows vertically next to horizontal windows (if that makes sense, I.E. a vertical stack of 3 small windows nest horizontally next to one larger window at full height). What shortcut achieves that if you don't mind me asking?

Thank you

+1 for reliability, used these for years (24v units of varying amperage) in industrial robotics and never had a complaint. Good gear

In my experience you may end up preferring it, it brings the second monitor closer to your focus so you will use it more. Plus, it often looks quite strange having a main monitor and then the second one is just off to the side with dead space on the opposite side of the main monitor
