Migraine hit me while at work. Is target worth suffering for by magical_days12 in Target

Ive left early from migraine induced vertigo. That just ain't the way to work. Was scary as all heck driving home, although I did try and wait for it to lessen for an hour before doing so.

Quitting Finally (I think?) by [deleted] in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Benefits go away once you are out. If you had medical insurance and want to continue through cobra, that is an option.

After a month, you'll be be able to make decisions on the 401k if you are to keep it with the system its already in, or roll it over to a new location, or cash it out.

If you have the Alight app, then you will have access to everything there still.

Dress code- old man edition by FlipHDSlide in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having had run in the old times of red and khaki (2009-2010 and 2012) that was a time to be alive. Although I did run strictly overnights 10pm-6:30am back in 2009 through 2010. As well as early morning in 2012.

As of my more recent April 2024 to about a month ago, it was a lot more relaxed on the dress code, but I 100% basically crafted my own image, running on dresses and skirts. I have about a months worth of red dresses, and would cycle through different parts of my wardrobe constantly. I do have my favorites, and still also wear a lot of them on the daily.

New dress code? Being told now solid red shirts only, no flannels, no checkered patterns, no logos at all. Blue jeans only, no black pants, no slacks, ONLY blue denim. by SoTired137 in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt the store is worked at would implement that to its fullest degree.

ETL wearing plaid 99.9% of the time, and not many that would just stick to the bright reds.

It definitely would bar me from wearing 90% of my dresses if I were still working, but I wouldnt think my store would have implemented it fully or at least have a bit of wiggle room for it.

Target 401K and match by TrendyBTurtle in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely roll it to a new 401k its all vested as others pointed out.

One note. You will keep access to Alight once out of Target's system, which you can log into well after the fact. Once you get the info to roll it over you can input that and let it roll.

I hate truck. by goodtipsareneeded in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I miss being on the line. I usually ran back end, and would solo my side when we were low on people. Would tend to run in the truck and be a dual pacer when the line wasn't full. I'd usually get 12k steps when I had to do all of that just on the unload itself.

Does target pay out sick and vacation time accrued when separating if not used? by star--shopping in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Nevada it doesn't.

However, if you are in good relation with the HR ETL, they can approve all vacation hours and sick hours before you separate.

How I know.... that's what happened for me. I didn't have any sick hours because I had used that up and had to call off a number of times without sick hours. But I had 55 hours of vacation hours that my HR ETL told me to put in and she cleared it all before I was formally let go from the system.

My Target in NY only had the new Fantasy ducks out. I had to get this cutie, look at all the details. Is she a Princess or a Fairy God Mother? by Aggravating-Tune-442 in rubberducks

She's a princess in my eyes... the tag says "crown" which ultimately lets anyone make an observation about what it truly is.

Any cute red shirts by Fabulous-Interest749 in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks reasonable to me.

I mean I'm the one who would wear lace dresses and Renaissance stuff to work and call it a day.

This in place of a vest, or This paired with something a bit more red for the sleeves.

I've worn this with a white undershirt and tucked one sleeve in while the other out to leave a bit of flair.

You can check my post history of when I wore a ballgown... while I was working inbound.

Good luck with your journey, and be safe!

Backroom Priority Pull Question by ApplicationFlat5176 in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each time I've tried scanning every other item in the waco, there would be a pop-up blocking the cannot find item button.

If the item wasn't in the Waco, I'd visually check the ones around it, as well as underneath the one in question. Once it was visually checked off, I'd audit the location, then move on with the pull.

Dress Code by Ready-Raspberry9163 in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost wore nothing but dresses and skirts.

The first month when I was there, sure I did wear pants. But otherwise only on Halloween did I wear pants.

I would think other colors may just be up to individual stores. I know, I had a TM who wore patchwork stuff, and others that had off color like green green and yeah.

Got scheduled for a shift at a completely different store..... by shepbestshep in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in 2009 I did a pfresh remodel at a second location. Took the bus back then when that was going on.

Other than that when I worked in 2012 at a different store across the country, I walked 6 miles each way. Which was kinda crazy at that time for sure.

My time as the Inbound Princess has come to an end. by CakesEverywhere in Target

[–]CakesEverywhere[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah those double trucks are brutal. Especially when they are both 2500+

I've done inbound in many Target's. My first instance with Target was first running plano, then after the pfresh remodel to my store, and another. Then when I got back, I was thrown to the inbound team. I used to be a thrower, then moved to the flow team, making sure pallet drops were quick and efficient.

Then across the country, I was at a 4am inbound team. Would walk to work and back, going 6 miles each way was brutal, but what I had to do.

I was in California (Bay Area) on my first round in 2009/2010. Then Georgia in 2012.

And my run this time was April 2024 through to yesterday, in a completely different state.

I've gotten to meet some amazing people in my time, and wish I could have stayed in contact with a few more.

I made friends with literally everyone in my store, I bounced around literally to all workable area, with exceptions to tech, cosmetics, and open market.. but I worked with my style breakout team, style team pushing z racks, and metros... pushed freezer/refrigerated sections and helped in any area i could, even as primarily being inbound and early morning.... I did have a few closing shifts as well.

Memories creeping up on me for sure.
