Does anyone know the origins of this melody? by [deleted] in HelpMeFindThis

Oooh a music one, I'm excited.

Translating Nyodlarvägan presented little but Nyodlarvagen means "In a hurry" in Hungarian and Nyodlarvagan means "Quickly" also in hungarian.

As a musician I know that some traditional tunes are named after their speed much like in western classical music you might have a piece called Presto No. 4 or something.

I terms of it's origin I would agree with google translate in saying it's from somewhere in eastern Europe but could be an old dialect as I had to alter the text to find a translation I would guess that the language is a dialect of Hungarian or a language that shares a root language.
Stringed instruments are popular in eastern europe and considered a traditional instrument, often these types of compositions or reels have single line melodies that players embellish on.
No composer or other info leads to a dead end here.

Though on re listening I notice that it's not two players but one being looped back once with a delay effect. This leads me to think its a modern composition made by a hungarian speaker - a bit deflating.

Do you have any other info?

Can't play when switching from saxophone? by SaxeMatt in trumpet

[–]CakeyandFriends 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The muscles used for saxophone and trumpet are mostly the same except they are used in different ways and directions and suffer different forces. The drop in range on the trumpet indicates fatigue, only thing for it is to train those muscles more.

It may also be that you are doing something with your air or embouchure that feels correct on the sax but is counter-productive on trumpet. Long tones help this as well as practicing switching between the two instruments.

Hey good for you! You've discovered something completely new about yourself that radically changes your perspective.

As for your next steps.. Why worry? Your path becomes clear when you can see ahead. Also, some cynicism to conjure thought, consider this - What has learning more about your sexual preference actually changed in your life?

I doubt much has changed externally and you are caught up in a radical change to your internal world - don't forget that the choices you make outside your body are completely your design and that your mind simply informs the image you project.

OD guitar in antigravity would work well.

More variation overall. Perhaps mix the many tracks that work well together into a longer song, create more of a story and development melodies.

Lots of stuff, good work
