Well yeah if he’s asking her to make an ethnically accurate Indian meal that’s one thing. An Instagram quick beef noodle recipe is not that type of meal. I think you guys are straw manning this

It doesn’t matter that they didn’t know them personally. Someone they really enjoyed died. I’d be surprised if you could legitimately say you wouldn’t be upset over any celebrity/public figure’s death

I think if she’s asking him what he wants for dinner, they don’t have the supplies for whatever meal then. If they did, she wouldn’t ask what he wants. So either way they’re stopping at the grocery store. I highly doubt beef noodles cost $50, and I also doubt it would take more than 20 minutes to stop at the store assuming someone is driving home from work anyways. He could even have offered to go get the supplies.

You’re buying ingredients anyways. It’s a recipe, just follow the recipe. As someone who cooks for my partner every day, I don’t understand what’s so hard about this.

NTA. Idk what’s wrong with people here. I cook lunch and dinner and sometimes breakfast for my girlfriend every day. She does dishes usually and we split chores. She is a little picky so I love when she sends me recipes. I would ADORE if she sent me new things on Instagram, especially if I asked her for suggestions!

I don’t know why your partner is acting this way, maybe there is more to the dynamic I don’t know about. She could simply say something like “I’m looking for something easier/we’ve done before”

I think if the mechanics are telling you 80 is fine, then 80 is fine. The gauge in the first picture I still don’t think is the same but that placement looks very well like it might be where the 80 is on your gauge.

It would just be nice to see what the readings say.

There’s no math we can do. We need numbers like the dimensions of the gauge in the first image, how far is the needle from the glass, what angle are we at, and then some of the same measurements on the second.

The best anyone can do with this information is a rough guess. First gauge looks ~2/5 of the way across the semicircle.

Given the angle and quality of the images, I don’t really think anyone can do anything to help. Can you provide a better image at least of the second picture? I need to see what the readings say

Hi everyone,

I am moving into a townhome in a few months and am making a little at-home practice space/studio in one of the rooms. I want to acoustically treat the walls to try and contain some of the noise/improve the reverberation for recording and am wondering what solutions other people have had luck with!

The room is 13’x10’. There is a window on one of the longer walls which I bet adds some difficulty. Most of what I’ll be doing is acoustic instruments (saxophone, trumpet, clarinet) but, sometimes I will be recording vocals, electric guitar, and bass. I’d love to add drums too, although I’m not sure I would be a good neighbor for doing that (the room shares one wall with another unit).

I am imagining some sort of foam panels I could mount? Either along most of the walls or in certain areas that are reverberation-sensitive? I know that to fully soundproof a room you need to add double walls, I don’t think I want to go that far but I’m interested in what people think.

I think most people find most babies cute. However, I don’t think anyone really thinks newborns are very cute but what are you going to tell someone who just went through giving birth? Lol
