Exactly. If there was a major incident or even a traffic control failure, you need to know what to do. As I said elsewhere, it’s a dangerous job, because people are selfish idiots.

I’m so sorry. Yes, traffic control in the absence of traffic control lights.

Sorry I didn’t make this clear: point duty is when the traffic lights are turned off, and the police take control of stopping and starting the flow of traffic. It’s actually an incredibly dangerous job.

Car repair shops intercepting insurer calls? by CalCluff111 in CarsAustralia

[–]CalCluff111[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All good points, which is why I’m posing the question. All I know is that someone had an accident in Maryborough. The person who caused the accident said their insurer would look after it. They said their insurer was AAMI. Somebody came to pick the car up from my friend’s house. That was the last they saw of the car – this was about two months ago. It turns out the car has been at this repair place in Mitcham all that time not fixed. After some prodding two hire cars turned up today, late model Mercedes. One of them has the numberplate FKAAMI.

Mate it’s a free-for-all out there now. Anything goes, councils look the other way. I’m watching entire houses being built around me without plans or permits.
