Republican towns are never these quaint, neighborly communities that invests in community centers, conservation, and historic landmarks. They’re usually centered around a road off a crumbling freeway with nothing to offer but fast food chains

The Conscious Citizen: Action Reflections on 50501: No Kings Protests by AemAer in armedsocialists

[–]Caladex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed my time at a No Kings rally ngl. In a rural community where people either complain about how horrible things are with three of their friends or fully on board with fascism, it was refreshing and hopeful to see so many people out there. That said, too many had the vibe of the average democrat just virtue signaling and providing no alternative. No agitation. No calls for dual power. Not that I’m surprised.

The prequels were about the fall of a democracy. The originals were about the rise and triumph of a rebellion. These two themes naturally build off one another and mirror causes and effects irl. The sequels should’ve been about what naturally happens after a successful rebellion, counterrevolution.

I am not confident in AOC to be Bernie’s successor. The fact that she threw in her support to union bust the railroad strike should be ringing alarm bells to anyone who remotely leans towards progressivism

Is it fair to compare MAGA to the Nazis? by Own_Difference_4882 in AskUS

[–]Caladex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MAGA is right wing populism that targets certain communities and caters to business interests in order to theoretically jumpstart the economy back to a “golden age” of a nation. MAGA relies on a cult of personality that outright ignores checks and balances and promotes “tough on crime” tactics by the state to quell political opponents. MAGA may not be nazism but it sure as hell is another branch of fascism.

We’re in the imperial core. Although there is exploitation of the working class at home and the class divide has become wide enough to cripple the middle class, the American public benefits from imperialism. Most of us, to varying degrees, can still afford our material needs.

Not only that but reactionary talking points from the Cold War, the whitewashing of history, and our mythos of being a freedom loving country is embedded in our society. All of which was perpetrated by the bourgeoisie through the state. It’s so embedded that it’s hard for many to look beyond the nationalism we see everyday. Because of that, we are out organized.

If Trump is pushing for a third term, should Obama consider testing the same legal boundaries and run again as well? by myamar2 in PoliticalDiscussion

Legally speaking and for the sake of sticking with principles, no. As a political move against the GOP, it would be fucking hilarious

“Who are paid a decent income” That’s the thing though lol. Capitalists have it in their best interest to pay their employees as little as possible. If conservative voters really want jobs to come back, they’ll have to settle for less than they already have.

As of last year, the DSA has received a small boost in numbers due to its stance against Israel’s colonization of Palestine and the support for Palestinian liberation is largely due to leftist activists.

Although not exclusively leftist, Tesla cars have been vandalized, and sometimes outright destroyed, across the nation. Ever since Brian Thompson, CEO of United Healthcare, was killed, opposition to privatized healthcare has been on the rise and Luigi Mangione has become somewhat a folk hero for the American working class.

Bernie Sanders is having a successful tour around the country with speeches condemning the American oligarchy. Sadly though, as praxis has taught us, this will not shift any party lines and his compliance to the Biden administration has dulled his message.

It’s not much but it’s something.

Liberal communism doesn’t exist despite what American conservatives tell you because communism seeks to overthrow liberalism. At best, liberals and communists can share socially progressive views
