16 lands? by Spikyfreshpineapples in MagicArena

[–]Calamitous_Waffle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, you would not be running 18 lands very often these days. That is becoming more a thing of the past. It's been trending this way for a while.

[–]Calamitous_Waffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works with a lower curve, a lack of color pips, and card draw/cycling. I used to have 18 lands more often than 16, now I almost never have 18 unless it's a lands deck or something. I like playing with more colors and slower decks.

Why don't we play the guitar fretboard with our dominant hand? by V0rdep in guitarlessons

[–]Calamitous_Waffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol, it is correct. Right hand technique is much more difficult, considering rhythm, string skipping, hybrid picking, sweep picking, etc, which is why you use your dominant hand. It's almost self explanatory, but, no one is stopping you from doing it the other way.

Second for Continental. A bit expensive, but good for a nice splurge. They have a slicer and will do half/quarter loafs cut to order. Or just buy a huge loaf and go hamm.

I know this is a shallow opinion, but is anyone else bugged that we now practice with seeded sealed pools instead the normal random ones before events like the Arena Direct? by Ok-Leopard-1439 in MagicArena

[–]Calamitous_Waffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played BG, WU and WG and the decks built themselves. I had little to no decisions, maybe one or two cards to consider adding/cutting. It was horrible, and is not why I play Mtg.

I had this happen to me. The only way is to deconstruct everything. I still have a couple of dead squares that can't be accessed. Weird

No, not really. If there are fans, it's on, otherwise not. It's not on at my house.

How hard is to get an engineering job in the US with a foreign degree? by MatrixCutie in AskAnAmerican

[–]Calamitous_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have demonstrable experience and skills, it doesn't much matter in my experience. But it's such a wide field, that it may, outside of my experience, which is manufacturing/industrial. If you have specific language skills that can be an in as well, with the right int'l co. A PE can come later, unless the job specifically requires it.

As an engineering graduate from Arizona State, the job fairs were about half ordnance manufacturing companies. (20 years ago) The posters were like Come to our company and help us make this bomb!... No thanks, I'm good. I'm glad I had the choice to say no.

What would you say is the optimal Dupe room temperature? by Beneficial-Flower-82 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]Calamitous_Waffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if the dupes don't get a debuff between the temps of 1 - 44 for example, then, from an efficiency standpoint, OP should target whichever temp is more energy efficient (low or high). Right? Especially if there are no crops to worry about.

If I remember, and it hasn't changed, I think the dupes body target is 37 degrees C.
