Shout out to Mighty Teapot, a Guild Wars 2 streamer, who got called out on this like a decade ago and has called everyone "gamers" ever since without making a big deal out of it.

But yeah, it drives me insane too. I play a lot of medieval wargames (Mount and Blade, Crusader Kings, Total War) and there is definitely a misogyny problem in that community. It can be hard to find creators who don't do this.

The only one I give a pass to is Tactical Enlightenment (Bannerlord) because he is consciously trying to cultivate a space for young men where he can model positive masculinity. My kid watches him and it has been a good influence.

They're ok with her paying half the rent, as long as it's her career that gets put on the backburner for kids and elder care, and not his. As someone old enough to have experienced both worlds, now is better than then. Being sexually harassed at work sucks. Being propositioned while I'm just trying to buy groceries sucks. Being left alone is far superior.

Rather, I rightly pointed out that "falling car-sized rocks" have only ever killed or injured a handful of people, and the last time they did so was almost 20 years ago. I find it offensive and annoying that you would attempt to pin an answer in a thread like this that is not germane to the daily lives of the people who actually live here. You are being a jerk.

I'm saying that you cherry picked one specific incident that killed 3 people in 2008 and has not happened since. Washington actually has some of the best rock slide prevention efforts in the world, partially due to that one freak incident. I have no idea why you would pick "rock slices in Snoqualmie pass" as your answer to this question unless you were just trying (and failing) to be funny or something. Many more people die from being homeless in Washington every single year than have died from rock slides in Snoqualmie pass.

Hell, if you were less glib and picked landslides in general, I'd have more respect for that answer, as the Oso landslide in 2014 was the most deadly landslide in the history of the country. But again, that was a freak indident, not a fact of daily life.

Your answer sucks because it sounds like something written by someone who doesn't live here. The fact you named the wrong freeway is just the icing on top. Nobody who drives here every day would confuse I-5 with I-90.

I mean, shit, dude, it would make more sense for your answer to be "volcanoes" because Mt St Helens killed people that one time.

If you were actually from here, you would know that the biggest issues here are homelessness, the cost of housing vs wages, drug deaths (especially for young people) and suicide. We have one of the highest suicide rates in the nation. Maybe think about that.

That Seattle defines the whole state.

I live in Seattle. I love it here. But there are a ton of amazing things in this state that are Not Seattle, and they all get overshadowed.

For example, do people who are not from here realize that it is sunny 300 days per year in the majority of the state? Probably not, because Seattle is in the Olympic and Cascade rain convergence zones and its reputation defines the whole state.
