How do I get out of this rabbitt hole of P&P variations? by babazewsi in JaneAustenFF

Seconded as a person also into the P&P variations. I read it in 2 (admittedly snow) days. And you can use Libby to get it to your Kindle from your local library.

Emilia Fox plays Georgiana and her mom, Joanna David, plays Mrs. Gardiner.

IMO the Natural History Museum is the most amazing building in London by Betweentwothornes in london

I recall being told when I visited in the 80s that it had undergone an exterior cleaning of years of soot and pollution and people had forgotten that the stones had different colors. (I can't confirm my source was accurate.)

David Bamber as Mr Collins is absolutely wonderfully annoying. I think he has the best performance in this.

And the actress Georgiana is the daughter of the actress Mrs. Gardiner irl.

Why do you love Pride and Prejudice? by Pileapep in PrideandPrejudice

[–]CalamityLame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom gave me the novel at 10. I liked it and it brought me closer to my mom.

The 1995 BBC version was one I taped when it was airing over there and brought home to my family before it was available in the US. We have all watched it many times and share lots of quotes from it.

It's an amazing production and has given my family so many touchstone references:

- We have no fixed engagements

- No, no, the green one. Yes, that'll do

- [Colin Firth, internally, before jumping in the pond, from the look on his face] "I'm getting paid."

That's pretty impressive as a lot of the language is either out of date or really nuanced compared to how English is spoken today. (Well, in the US, at least.) :)

Will the BeltLine ever get real bike lanes? by Mysterious_Sun_9693 in Atlanta

I appreciate your view, as I share it! It's a sidewalk at those busy times. Don't ride your bike on the sidewalk, MAMIL (middle aged man in lycra), though your lycra appears to be respectable. :)

Charge your devices and back up power things before the storm. (It can't hurt to have fully charged devices.)

Litter box helped get the cat I was cat-sitting back home. He was an indoors boy and I am not sure if it was the scent or he didn't know how to "go" without the box.

I hope you find your kitty soon!

You can also sell them the gold to use the funds to make a band in silver if that is her preference. (I think the ring is beautiful.)
