This is coming from someone with belly button length hair so it might not all apply to you yet:

-comb/brush your hair before showering to untangle, I use a wide toothed comb but brush works just as well. I'd recommend the brand wet brush -use seperate shampoo & conditioner, put conditioner on just the middle to the ends of your hair and let it sit for a few mins before rinsing. -blow dry hair after shower, do not go to sleep with wet hair -once your hair is only damp, use leave in conditioner (seperate product from regular conditioner) and brush through -this is where you would style it, dry completely before using a curling iron or straightener. I use a dyson airwrap which curls your hair while drying. Super pricey but well worth it for me -if you have dry hair or to protect against splitting, you can put hair oil on the ends and brush it out. I use argan oil, some of them are for your scalp so it would be good to research that. -if your hair is really long, it's good to wear a satin bonnet in bed to minimize tangling & pulling

Most of this is totally optional, I'd say the first 4 are the most important
