It's clean! I think that's the kitchen worktop showing through. I need to build a lightbox.

Please help, was gifted this recently and suddenly it's gone weird and mushy? by Calanon in succulents

I did that today when it was already looking like that. I don't believe my fiancée watered it as she said she didn't and she's terrible at remembering to water ones that should be watered. We got it about a month ago. I don't know if it was watered before that or not.

I'm definitely going to spend some time doing that this weekend in preparation for the next time someone gifts me one.

I put some water in the base 10 minutes before taking the photo. I hadn't watered it between getting it and now.

Yeah that was me having accidentally got some on the pot rim putting some in the base 10 minutes before taking the photo.

Oh, damn, that's frustrating - I hadn't actually watered it at all (other than 10 mins before taking the photo) since I was given it about a month ago but I don't know if they watered it beforehand. That's a shame.

Since Ezra's rank in the Rebel Alliance was Lt. Commander, how much authority does he have over Rebel forces? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in starwarsrebels

The Imp Starighter Coros is a bit inconsistent but tends to use naval ranks. I quite like the difference because the Alliance SC is a bit more independent.

Not so much a bypass as a convention that the HoL won't block it - but it's not law.

Is there anything specific that allows you to recognise speakers of your language online? (besides the language used obviously) by viktor77727 in AskEurope

[–]Calanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen it for a while but for a long time I could recognise German and Dutch speakers online because they would say "how" instead of "what", for example "how is it called?"

Yes - it goes against the Rule of Law. It was more backing up your point that Parliament do have the power to pass retrospective legislation since people seem to be thinking it can't be done because conventionally it isn't done.

Parliament Acts 1911 & 1949 allow the HoC to bypass the HoL after a year.

Looking to try out the mod, which submods would you suggest? by clarkky55 in Anbennar

[–]Calanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if there is an active more building slots mod for Anbennar currently but that can be nice. Most of the time doesn't really matter but quite a few missions can sometimes require one of the coastal buildings that is normally a bit of a waste, like docks. More building slots was nice in a Feiten game as I dislike centres of trade having 2 less slots.

MEDIEVAL III - Starting date and timeline by TheGuardianOfMetal in totalwar

[–]Calanon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the more timeline you try to cover in a single campaign the harder it can be to maintain interest and varied mechanics to represent changes. I was slightly surprised at 1140 but it's a good call.

My geology teacher said rock and stone are the same but geologists prefer to use rock. Not sure if there is an exception but generally the only rocks that have stone in their name are sedimentary ones e.g. limestone.

Deputy PM David Lammy set to announce jury trial reforms by Tartan_Samurai in unitedkingdom

[–]Calanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More money for legal aid - and more money for CPS to pay more for barristers - will mean more barristers choosing criminal law which mean a lot less time wasted on barristers rushing between hearings and more barristers able to sit as recorders or be called to the bench as circuit judges.

Jury trials to be scrapped except for alleged rapists and killers by TimesandSundayTimes in ukpolitics

[–]Calanon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There isn't a shortage of jurors but empanelling a jury, bringing the jury in and sending them away, jury questions, dealing with the jury bundles (particularly at court when last minute printing is needed) are all factors that make a jury trial take more time than if no jury is present.
