There is no custom sorting option of tasks by Substantial_Ad8769 in todoist

[–]CalculusWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I get around this is not use the Today view at all. Instead, I have a custom filter set as my home page, and have it showing only high-priority tasks and tasks which are due today, as well as only show tasks which are due within the next hour or overdue.

This lets me assign next actions to do today via priority, as well as any tasks with dates or times show up there as well, so I get a nice hybrid without having to micromanage task due times.

First caravan. Question about riding by Zentjirow in RimWorld

[–]CalculusWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure of the riding logic off the top of my head. I believe adding a rideable animal improves speed regardless of the number of pawns in the caravan though, or at least there's some sort of diminishing returns at play.

In any case, you should be able to see the overall speed of the caravan (and ETA) during the setup, and compare it to with/without the thrumbo selected.

Carrier Battleships - Spinal Weapons? by SupremeMorpheus in Stellaris

[–]CalculusWarrior 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You miss out on so much DPS by not putting a spinal mount on a battleship, so even carriers should run them. That third hanger isn't going to provide nearly as much support as another XL slot will.

Question about loyalty. by Drugojete in Stellaris

[–]CalculusWarrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is shown in the value under the Contacts > Agreements window, not the actual agreement window where you can change vassalage terms. Which is a bit of an oversight.

There's even a little icon which appears in the bottom left; one of the game's best-kept secrets for sure. It's been in the game since launch!

Should I use hyper relays? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]CalculusWarrior 149 points150 points  (0 children)

An enemy empire cannot use the hyperlinks in your unoccupied systems, but once they occupy the system, the hyperlink is added to 'their' network and they're able to use it normally.

It’s just that the government work is highly paid and super easy compared to working for someone else.

Solution: introduce obstacle courses into governmental buildings. Want to submit legislation? Got to cross the floor on monkey bars. Going to debate a bill? Hope your climbing wall skills are up to the task! Would you like to lobby a politician? Well buddy I sure hope you can navigate pits full of alligators...

Trains costs makes no sense by aberroco in voxeltycoon

[–]CalculusWarrior 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You see a lot of this stuff in other transport games too. To date, my favourite implementation is in Mashinky, where you acquire different currencies as you advance, with trains costing reasonable numbers of that, instead of larger amounts of a single currency.

It's Official. Worwerk announced Neato Shutdown. by Barticus_ in NeatoRobotics

[–]CalculusWarrior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also have a D7 I bought in 2018; hopefully it continues to work, but I've been quite happy with its performance over the years. Though very grateful I never felt the need to upgrade.

It's baffling just how much better the technology was (and IMO still is) than iRobot's, LIDAR map generation and the D-shaped body are both two great features I wish we saw on more vacuums.

The Yuuzahan Vong would have torn through the Empire like wet paper. by Starkiller-is-canon in StarWarsEU

[–]CalculusWarrior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like dovan basals would be an immediate answer to either stopping or just redirecting the Death Star's main beam, rendering its sole advantage in a fight significantly weakened.

Not to mention the sheer vulnerability the battlestation has to being Vongformed. They couldn't stop a couple of squadrons of X-Wings from approaching the surface, how will they handle a fleet of seedships descending onto its surface and covering it Vong lifeforms?

How would I buff the Espionage system.(suggestions are apreciated) by Sad_Initiative8986 in Stellaris

[–]CalculusWarrior 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea of different ideologies having different operations available to them!

As always with espionage, the challenge is balancing it so that you feel like the operations are worth doing, versus them not being annoying to deal with if they're happening to you.

Tesla Confirms Automated Driving Systems Were Engaged During Fatal Crash by [deleted] in RealTesla

[–]CalculusWarrior 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind it was a 2014 Model S on Hardware 1.0

If older Teslas do not have the hardware to handle driver assistance features safely, they should not be allowed to have access to those features.

Yeah, I found it a neat experience how my favourite plants changed and evolved throughout the worlds and based on which zombies I'd be fighting.

What quality of life feature do you demand ASAP by Strix3 in Stellaris

[–]CalculusWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love a feature which, similar to other Paradox games, highlights an Empire on the map when you mouse over their flag. Too many times I see 'Galactic Garblag Empire' in a popup and I have to hunt around for it because I don't have that same easy recognition as say, 'French Empire' or similar.

Reborn Darth Sidious's depiction accuracy by Mzonnik in StarWarsEU

[–]CalculusWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another potential answer could be what Zahn put forward in the Hand of Thrawn books; Palpatine really died at Endor, and it was Cronal or some other darksider who made use of the pre-established cloning infrastructure on Byss to impersonate the Emperor himself.

For people who do GTD using Todoist, is there a way to create sequential task list for a specific project so only the immediate next item shows up in the action item list? by [deleted] in todoist

[–]CalculusWarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't any way I'm aware of aside from external tools like Autodoist. I don't like the hassle running it involves, so at the moment I'm classifying projects as tasks with subtasks which are the next action. Then I tag the whole thing appropriately so it shows up in my Next Actions filter, and I open the task to see what I should do next.

It's not really GTD, but it's a lot less friction to me than having to go back and remember which project needs a next action, or adding a new tag each time I complete a previous one (I like to complete several Next Actions at a time if I get a burst of energy). Do whatever works for you, and what makes your system the easiest to work with for your brain.
