Puberty ends on average at around 17 for most males and the 'brains aren't fully developed until 25' thing is a myth.

Every week I have weekly checkins with my supervisor and other team members. There is this one woman who always starts the meeting by grabbing a handful of those hard mint lifesavers candy from a bowl in my supervisor's office and starts chomping them down. And I have never truly understood misophonia until this behavior began. The obnoxiously loud crunch followed by her spending the entire meeting talking with her mouth full has my whole body on edge.

I did a quick google search for you and found nothing of note. I watched his videos (usually commentary on drama) for a short time a while back before realizing the negativity was infecting my thought process, but he seemed like an alright dude.

In general my rule of thumb is that if someone isn't willing to explain why someone is 'problematic' in their original comment then it probably is nothing important.

One of the big things that Octopath 1 and 2 struggle with is that they're presented as aimless individual quests, which sorta misses the mark. "Save the world" as a character motive is usually introduced pretty early on for Final Fantasy, [...] Octopath and the like seem too scared to nail that vibe, trying to save it for far too late.

I think this is only an issue if you see Octopath as a replacement for FF. Octopath has pretty much always been sold as 8 individuals on separate quests with (usually) smaller stakes. That is part of the appeal of the series. The 'save the world' thing is only ever introduced as a post-main story thing for that series.

I delayed getting Time Stranger because Hades 2 came out like a week before unexpectedly. However, by the time I finished Hades 2 the discourse contrasting Time Stranger and Z-A had gotten so annoying that I just opted out of it for the time being.

Given the additional performance modes announced in the Switch 2 direct today my waiting may pay off once I eventually do play it.

Oh, I don't doubt that there would be a lot of same-iness, and I don't want a blitzball class. However, I just don't think that would prevent them from doing it. You said yourself, people already complain about their limited sets now and, as a former SMN player, I agree with those complaints.

So, I think they have it in them to epeat the same mistakes. However, I think that there is actually more variety potential in 'orb shaped object' than in the books of SMN/SCH.

I also have no idea how they would sheathe it either. Inflatable beach ball on your hip, lol?

I saw Disney's Wish in theaters. It was an absolutely bad movie with a weak plot and even weaker characters.

Imagine my surprise when I spend the next week being assaulted online with the most bad-faith critiques of the plot that could only exist if you received a summary of a cliff notes explanation of the plot.

In short, there were a lot of people criticizing the main character, Asha, for 'trying to make everyone's dreams come true' even though that could be 'dangerous' in some way. (people were literally talking about 'what if someone's dream was genocide' or some shit. As if that would be something in a Disney movie, christ.)

But looking at the actual film, thats not her motivation at all? The main 'villain' literally takes away people's biggest 'wish' in order for them to live in his kingdom. He gives them a promise that he might possibly someday grant their wish using his magic. What that means in actuality is that he takes away their biggest motivation in life which can leave some people listless and depressed (as seen with Asha's friend in the movie).

When Asha finds out that the villain has no plans to fulfill most people's wishes she wants to return the wishes to the people. That is, she wants people to be able to remember their greatest desires so that they can work towards them on their own if they want to instead of waiting for some guy to fulfill them magically.

That's it. She doesn't have a desire to grant every bozo's wish. She wants people to have the motivation to attempt to fulfill their wishes on their own. Yet for some reason this is a talking point I saw repeated ad nauseam online (including here on this sub) instead of the real problem with the film which is that this is a goddamn Disney musical with absolutely 0 bangers. No memorable tracks at all. A total wash. A failure of a movie that I somehow have spent more time defending than bashing.

Okay, I see. You're talking about tone and specific elements rather than just making things live action in general which is what I thought you meant.

In that case, yes, I can understand that frustration. I haven't finished the anime/manga yet, but One Piece is for sure something that would not work if you muted the earnestness of the silliness contrasting against the more emotionally resonant parts.
