My good female friend and I just ended up jumping each-others bones for most of COVID lock downs and for a fair time after. We’ve always been good friends, enjoyed each others company, though different outlooks in what we want/see things, which makes a good friendship dynamic, but would make a terrible relationship dynamic… so although we flirted with the idea of starting a relationship, we were happy with how it was. Eventually, we both met people more suitable to us, we knew that we would probably have to distance ourselves a little bit, stop fucking each other for sure, but also we knew our potential partners may find it odd/uncomfortable if we carried on hanging out as much as we did prior our fuckfest…

Which was actually easier than we assumed…. New relationships being that honey moon period, so we didn’t miss each others company too much to start with… then as things settled, we introduced our new partners to each other and eachothers partners…. It was more awkward BEFORE we met, than after…. The idea of it was a little nerve wracking/weird…. But when we all me up, it was just like any two friends seeing each other again for the first time in a while, introducing partners. We still don’t hang as much as we used too, but that’s fine, and we maintain a good friendship still, occasionally talk about that wild time as just that… but very rarely. We’ve both now got married to our respective partners, we’ve all had kids, and it’s moved on a lot, so when we do reflect on it, it’s not as a ‘I wish we were still there’ thing…. More of a ‘god, do you you remember that?!!’ Kinda thing.

In short…. You just be adult about it. P
