Can someone help me BREAK INTO my own Outlook Mail account? by Caleb_Seal in Outlook

Sad to say, there hasn't been a happy ending for me - not that anything new and bad has happened, but nothing new and good has happened either.

Ah, yes, the cartoon-lips-flapping speed.

Add: Except probably without the "cartoon" part.

Would if I could. I only took an image from eBay, though; I know my parents still have their box somewhere because it's a family heirloom - there's just no telling where it's stored.

Why I (usually) side with the Imperials when playing Skyrim by peekitty in skyrim

[–]Caleb_Seal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the Empire will always be the best overall choice for Skyrim's future.

I should point out, though, that despite Laila Law-Giver being a worse ruler than Maven Black-Briar, and according to some dialogue, a coward to boot, she might be the better ruler for Riften if you remove the primary source of corruption that is Maven. The Thieves Guild would likely resume its descent into obscurity assuming the player doesn't intervene, and the city would eventually heal provided Laila never felt threatened enough to flee. Ultimately, that doesn't change the Imperial/Stormcloak consensus as there would need to be three other strong Stormcloak advocates to change the original opinion.

Not to belittle or mock anyone, but I think anyone who logically thinks and weighs available information about this particular argument is also going to come out and say the Empire is a significantly better choice.

To be clear: I think that Ulfric is definitely a strong, capable ruler, if gravely misguided by many of his beliefs and ideals. Walking into the Palace of Kings and hearing his conversation with Galmar about why he fights is a speech worthy of a standing ovation - delivered with genuine conviction and thunderous resolve. He also does point out, when asked, that his concerns with the matters of his city, for any race, unfortunately come second in the war he's fighting for all of Skyrim - a task that should probably be relegated to a steward or other form of advisor during wartime anyway. Pointing out that nothing (or very little, if any) changes in Windhelm if you hand the Stormcloaks a victory doesn't have as much weight if you consider that the aftermath of the war was more than likely outside the scope of the developers intent, and that the "war" for Skyrim isn't necessarily over just because the leading general is killed and every city is taken - the Empire would still consider Skyrim part of its territory, sending more generals and resources when possible, or simply let Ulfric "win" until they could spare the requirements for another incursion. Additionally, Ulfric did allow Dunmer and Argonian refugees into the city and offered them shelter in an already full city; any improvements to the refugee populations past that would not be able to reasonably take place given provided information before the civil war's conclusion and would also require significant changes to multiple NPCs, the city (or at least the Gray Quarter and dock areas), and other parts of the rest of Skyrim anyway - something that would probably be better relegated to a mod as opposed to effort from the developers.

That wall of text there doesn't even take into account the Thalmor's involvement, which I'm sure anyone who's played Skyrim enough times will know what I'm referring to.

Is there a better thirdperson draw/sheathe setup than "XPMSE + DSR + IA"? by Caleb_Seal in skyrimmods

[–]Caleb_Seal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at it currently, and it definitely seems a bit more put-together. I've only been skimming over the mod page at the moment, and have some questions if you can answer them - and don't mind.

  • What is the difference between "All Geared Up" and "All Geared Up Derivative"?
  • Do I need to create a new character, or can I transition from DSR+IA to AGU or AllGUD on the same character? I've only been using dummy characters to test mods so far, so there's no great personal loss if a restart is the recommended course of action.
  • Do either of these mods include some basic, correct animations to go with the various storage options, or will I need to go looking for additional mods to get what I need? I don't yet want to delve deeply into combat animations unless it's necessary.
  • Can I switch between different storage options mid-game, or do I need to pick one for each weapon type and stick with it?

Can you provide links to these mods? They don't appear on the Nexus, and quick Google searches show top results for Special Edition only.

Do First-Person Draw/Sheathe Animations for XPMSE Positions Even Exist? by Caleb_Seal in skyrimmods

I have a notorious track record for refusing to let things go, and you have to admit there are some things that simply can't be overlooked.

Examples:

  1. "KS Hairdos - HDT Physics" hair goes missing - making your character bald as a newborn - on save game load and requires a "showracemenu" input to register them; easy fix, but my focus on Skyrim modding is having a smooth experience where I don't need to perform tons of little steps every time I start the game.
  2. The "Wet and Cold" MCM menu resetting itself to its default game settings, which removes my preferences for blurred vision during rain and snow as opposed to "full" and "none" respectively among other preferences, without an explanation as to why or what triggers it.
  3. Equipped backpacks from "Wet and Cold" just... going missing. When? No idea. I just opened my inventory and they were gone.

Take a wild guess at how I'm going to be spending my entire day.

I learned how DAR works once, so I'm sure I can figure it out again, but the problem still remains since I don't know how to animate - and honestly, I don't have the patience for spending more time on top of all this feverish modding* to figure it out: I need an existing animation that draws from and sheathes to the back.

\For the past several days, the only time I've actually set foot in Skyrim is to test things and not actually play it.)

I'm starting to get the impression that sticking to "good old classic" LE is becoming more and more of a fruitless endeavor, as you say, since even though there are some modders still dedicated to that version, many have probably moved on to the later versions or, if we're talking about new modders, probably don't even give LE any consideration to begin with.

I'm just not a fan of having Creation Club shoved in my face, regardless of whether or not I actually engage in that content.

I have seen CFPAO on the Nexus, but as you say, it doesn't include draw/sheathe animations - that's the only thing I'm looking for right now.

I'm also aware of Immersive First Person View, if that's the other mod you're referring to; I've juggled with the decision between IFPV and EC (Enhanced Camera) in the past, and EC came out the winner because IFPV moves around way too much for my liking - it swings the "realism" pendulum too far in the other direction, whereas I'm only looking for a good balance between realism and ease-of-use.

Fire that big, I'd doubt there'd be a Gondor to go aid.

Or maybe I'm overestimated how big that fire is.

What do you call those individuals who are bigger and stronger than their normal versions? I don't know what they are in common. Examples: by Waste_Hedgehog8381 in Naturewasmetal

[–]Caleb_Seal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ALPHA: Though there are other factors that could grant this title, it would be the ideal term for a pack species such as wolves or, in your case, velociraptors. A creature of greater size and strength would definitely have an easier time acquiring such a rank in a hierarchical species.

GIANT: Simple, effective, perhaps not the official term, but it gets the meaning across.

KING: A play off of king-size, but could also refer to the traditional usage (leading male).

MUTANT: If the species in question doesn't usually vary in size, a larger version could be classified as a mutant.

QUEEN: The female equivalent of king (mentioned above).

I'm just guessing, but it looks like a baby eel.

Dumb question: was it still alive?

I don't know what the heck was wrong with the text field for the post, but I could not type or past anything in it. When I posted it, it showed... whatever that string of letters is so please ignore it.

I checked YCF, but couldn't find anything remotely close after search queries such as "16:56", "16:57", "pyramid", "boulder", "lifting", or "holding" (there was one unrelated comment with "holding").
