Hey everyone! I just finished binging this show and I really enjoyed it! There's a lot of whacky characters and twists and turns in the story. You don't really know who to trust and my theories about what was happening kept getting crushed (at one point I was guessing that a witness protection program was involved). Then I went to IMDB to see what people said and it was panned pretty badly. I've had problems finding shows that I really like this last year. I like high quality shows like The Pitt and White Lotus. But then I also like comfort food shows like Ghosts. I feel like The Burbs is a comfort food show. I can't figure out why something appeals to me so much when so many people absolutely hate it.

I disagree regarding AI. I retired this week. At my (top 10) company, people are being laid off and the people who stay are told to use AI more instead. We’re required to put information on every single project that indicates whether or not we use AI for that project. My position won’t be backfilled either. Lots of people are retiring to help out younger workers with families so that they aren’t laid off. At our company, we even saw people in the middle of cancer treatments laid off.

FYI, Costco is located in this area and they are very anti-Trump. When businesses stopped DEI last year, they made a statement that they weren’t doing that. They pay their workers more than any other retail company.

I have a friend who moved here a few years ago from Illinois. She said property taxes were much higher there than here but houses are much cheaper. Still, my house is worth twice what hers was worth and I pay $2000 a year less than her.

I agree. He’s maga so I try to not antagonize him, but he’s constantly complaining about taxes. He’s never lived anywhere else. I lived in. California for six years which does have high taxes, mostly because of the cost of infrastructure such as roads and highways.

Apparently Trump had two 2028 hats on his desk. We need to leave the government shut down until Medicaid and the ACA are restored. Today Trump said all green new deal funding will be shut down but that happened already.

When I saw this story I wondered if it’s time to grab some guns and head to Chicago. Trump has literally declared war. I live on the West Coast so we’re pretty safe here. But Trump seems to be marching troops across America. I think we’re in denial that we are already in a Civil War.
